Anicia Cardo Perez, daughter of Fran- cisco Cardo and Minerva Perez, was nominated by . the National Art Honor So- ciety. Anicia. has been a member of the National Art Honor Society for four years and is president of this organization, has been in FFA for four years and in the Spanish Club for three years. She is currently a member of the National Technical Honor Society, Beta Club and SPO, and has been involved with swim- ming for two years. Lakia Marsette Cooper, daughter of Wanda and Marcel Cooper, was nomi- nated by the Kings Revue. Lakia was a ninth grade junior varsity cheerleader and has been a varsity cheerleader the past three years, and a varsity cheer captain. Lakia was in Span- ish Club in grades 10-11, she has been in chorus and SPO for four years and in Kings Revue for grades 10- 12. Lakia was class presi- dent in 10th grade. She is a Renaissance card holder and sings in the gospel choir at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. She is interested in journalism. Lakia received ‘athlete academic awards and was recognized as “Most Dedicated” in her cheerleading squad. Teal Renee Curry, daughter of Henry and Freda Curry, was nominated by the Health Education Career Student. Teal has served on the SPO for all four years of high school. She is a member of Health Education Career Students, the Chemistry, Club, and the varsity cheerleading squad. She is a Renaissance gold card-holder and made track and field all-conference. She is also a member of the Steering Wheel Foundation and is a big sister mentor. She is a member of the Alpha Theta Delta sorority and volunteers in the com- munity. She is an active member of the Long Branch First Baptist Church. Tiara has been active in the band for all four years. For the past two years she has been in the color guard. She has played varsity basketball for four years and was varsity volleyball all-conference. She is a member of SPO, Renaissance, Chemistry Club, Beta Club and FCA. She also made track and field all-conference. Tiara is a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, serving as an usher and member of the choir: She is also on the KM “Golddig- ‘gers” volleyball team. Tiara plans to attend a four year university to major in phys- ical therapy. Ashley Lauren Ray, daughter of Mark and Debby Ray, was nominated by the chorale. Ashley is a member of the National Honor Society and the Beta Club. She made North Car- olina Honor Chorus as a freshman and she attended SATELLITE camp at NC State and Summer Ventures at UNC-Charlotte. She has been a member of the Am- bassador’s Club since 10th grade. In 2008-09, she was vice president for chorale and she ran track and cross- country in her freshman year.
