In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack “Jay” Vee Martin; grand- children, Jeffrey Lane Sheppard and Joey Lane Jr.; brothers, John and Bud Stewart; and sister, Kather- ine Stewart. Retired from Parkdale Mills in Kings Mountain, she was of the Baptist faith and was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. ' She attended Asheville Normal and Teacher’s College for two years and graduated from Appalachian State Teacher’s College at Boone. She was a teacher at Latti- more for two years, Rock- ingham for one year and retired from Kings Moun- tain District Schools after 35 years, teaching the ma- jority of that time at Beth- ware Elementary School. A member of Boyce Me- morial ARP Church of Kings Mountain, she was a member of = Cleveland County Retired School Per- sonnel, NC Association of Educators, National Educa- tion Association, NC Re- tired Governmental Employees = Association, Open Gate Garden Club, Study Club and Friends of Mauney Memorial Library. Barris Jfuneral Home Jay Dee Moss, Jr. MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Jay Dee Moss, Jr, 64, died Monday November 23, 2009 at Conway Medical Center. Born in Kings Mountain, NC, he was the son of the late Jay D. Sr. and Eva Moss. Mr. Moss lived his life for the Lord, his wonderful wife of 46 years, his chil- dren, and his grandchil- dren. He loved helping and being part of the lives of anyone he came in contact with. He loved and enjoyed being with people and he could talk and have fun with anyone. Mr. Moss spent 39 1/2 years in the lawn equipment business when he retired in August 1 2001 as General Manager of Stovall Turf in Atlanta, GA. He was Na- tional Salesman of the Year with the Toro Co. in 1984. Mr. Moss loved his com- munity and his church. He was a charter member of the Pawtucket Lions Club in Charlotte, NC and the Con- way Sertoma Club. He also served on the Board of Di- rectors «for = Waccamaw Academy. (He was a Royal Ambassador leader at First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach. He served First Baptist Church of Conway in many capacities over the years as deacon for two terms, committee. member ‘of Together We Build and Building Bridges, and fi- nance committee. Mr. Moss had a heart for the youth of the church and community. Mr. Moss is survived by his loving wife Gail H Moss; a son, Alan Moss and wife Cyndi of Suwanee, GA.; a daughter, Autumn Ward and husband Travis of Mayodan, NC; four grand- children, Riha and Leila Moss and Emma and Levi Ward; a sister, Shirley Melton and husband David of Kings Mountain, NC; three brothers, Karl Moss and wife Martha of Kings Mountain, NC, Reggie Moss and wife Kay of Kings Mountain, NC, and Ed Moss and wife Peggy of Lake Ashton, FL. The driver stopped the car and found the boy was not hurt, according to police, and left the scene. The boy walked home and his mother took him to Kings Mountain Hospital, according to the police report. OCT: 28: ‘Officer S.: M. Skinner said - that Donna Melton Millwood, 707 Har- mon Rd., pulled her vehicle up to the window at Hardees, 509 E.
