The City is consid-
ering adopting a
temporary morato-
rium ordinance in
accordance with
General Statutes
160A-381. The
moratorium ordi-
nance would cre-
ate a six (6) month
period where no
zoning permits
would be issued
for internet cafes
and retail busi-
nesses using
sweepstakes ma-
chines or gaming
machines and the
like. During such a
moratorium the
City shall consider
the impact of these
land uses and also
consider appropri-
ate ordinances,
regulations, and
permitting proce-
dures. You are wel-
come to attend the
City Council Public
Hearing December
15,2009 to express
your opinion on
this ordinance.
