Moore Bethware marks students’ ‘achievements
Continued from Page 5B
It was all in a day’s work
for a nurse to assist with a cir-
cumcision, sutures, X-rays,
fractures, physicals, etc. And
they wore white caps, white
hose and dresses, never pants.
She was glad to see the
change to white pants. Jean
said she had the opportunity
to work with professional
nurses and doctors who are
her friends today and many
came to wish her happy re-
tirement.
For over 14 years Jean has
worked with Cleveland Med-
ical Associates in Kings
Mountain and for the past
three years as Dr. Charles
Langley’s nurse, in a clinic
teamed with Dr. Scott Mayse.
Jean also worked with Dr.
Frank Sincox and Dr. Syed
Thiwan at the medical prac-
tice.
Thiwan, now in Suffolk,
VA, wrote that “everywhere I
have been since Kings Moun-
tain I have set the goal for all
my staff to meet the standards
of service that I have seen you
give with our patients.”
“You have always been a
true credit to your profes-
sion,” said June Lee, widow
of Dr. Joe Lee.
Hosting the retirement
party were Jean’s co-workers:
Sharon Collins, chairman; of-
fice manager Jenny Shuford,
Tommy Truett, Lavita
Rhodes, and Lauren Cobb.
Daughter of James and
Betty Brackett Falls and the
late Lorena Falls, Jean is a
Kings Mountain native.
Jean and Rick have two
children: N. C. Representative
Tim Moore and wife, Juli
McRae Moore and Karla
Drennan and husband, Randy,
all of Kings Mountain. The
three grandchildren are the
family’s pride and joy. The
family is active in First Bap-
tist Church, and Jean also be-
longs to a local investment
club, Doughmakers.
Jean encourages young
women to choose nursing as a
career. She says she will miss
friends but she’s ready to
move on and enjoy what
could become a second career
in a new business from home.
