Jimmy Francis ROCK HILL, SC- Jimmy Miller Francis, 67, of 366 E. Main St., died un- expectedly February 13, 2010 at-home. A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Basil and Brite Wells Francis. He was em- ployed in automobile sales for many years. A member of the ARP Church of Blacksburg, SC where he was a former treasurer, he was a member of the Elks Cub and was past president of the former Blacksburg Jaycees. He is survived by his daughter, Lori F. Barrett and husband, Joey, of Shelby; two grandchildren, Cody and Haley Bennett and a close friend, Mitch Laney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dr. William W. Francis. Neisler, Jr. KINGS MOUNTAIN- Joseph Andrew Neisler Jr., 79, passed away at his home in Lake Waccamaw on Feb- ruary 10, 2010 with his wife Marlene by his side. He was born in Kings Moun- tain on Dee. 13; 11930 the son 0 f Joseph Andrew Neisler, Sr. dnd Annjie™ : : Miller Neisler Caveny. He grew up in Kings Mountain. He attended Woodberry Forest School in Virginia and in 1954 graduated from Davidson College in David- son where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fra- ternity. He married Marlene Hedrick of Lenoir on June 19, 1954. Mr. Neisler was a faith- ful member of the Presbyjfe- rian Church serving fs Deacon and Elder. He vias an important part of the t#x- tile industry in North and South Carolina serving as secretary-treasurer of Chesterfield Yarn Mills and founder of Oakland Planta- tion Turf Farm in Council. Mr. Neisler became Hunt- master of ‘Oakland Planta- tion when his father retired. He was an avid wildlife conservationist serving on Governor Jim Martin’s Blue Ribbon Committee and later on the North Carolina Wildlife Commission. He was a lifetime sponsor of Ducks Unlimited and was a founder of the Kings Moun- tain Chapter. Mr. Neisler served as president of the Kiwanis Club in Kings Mountain where he was a longstanding member. Mr. Neisler had a great love for his wife and family and by example taught them to love what he enjoyed the most: fishing, hunting and cooking. He cherished op- portunities to share the blessings in his life with others, especially entertain- ing at Oakland or watching another generation of chil- dren cruise Lake Wacca- maw in the “Little Boat” which he built in 1960. He ‘was considered a local ex- JERE pertt for his knowledge of white perch fishing, purple martins and preparation of grilled venison. His venison recipe was, featured in “Southern Living Maga- zine.” He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Marlene Hedrick Neisler, of Lake Wacca- maw.
