Page 2A RR OBITUARIES The Kings Mountain Herald SRNR, POLICE Ro Wednesday, October 27, 2010 Bob Clark KINGS MOUNTAIN - Bob Clark, 70, 239 Jim Pat- terson Rd., died Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 at Carolinas Med- ical Center, Charlotte. Son of the late William N. Clark and Adlean Smith Clark, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann English Clark and a sis- ter, Margaret Ann Hager. He retired from the US Navy, serving from 1958-80 and during the Vietnam War. Surviving are his daugh- ter, Tina Carver-and husband. Clay of Bessemer City; .brother, William N.”Bill” Clark Jr. and wife Mary of Kings Mountain; sister, Rosina White and husband Sam of Lincolnton; grand- children: Megan Loftin and Drew Loftin and fiance Casey Camp of Kings Mountain, The funeral service was conducted Sunday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. at Ollie Harris Me- morial Chapel at Harris Fu- neral Home. Rev. Nancy Mugford officiated and in- terment was in Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston. The family received friends Sunday prior to the funeral service at Harris Funeral Home. Parris Funeral Home Louise King KINGS MOUNTAIN - Louise Bobbitt King, 95, 401 Downing Drive, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at White 1915 in Kings Mountain, the daughter of the late Hosie and Mary Parrish Bobbitt. Her husband, Denver (Dink) King, preceded her in death in 1964. Mrs. King was the owner of King Bookkeeping Serv- ice for 30 years in which she offered business services to the community. She was a faithful member of Kings Mountain Baptist Church and looked forward to at- tending the Lois Sunday School Class each week. In the community, she was a former president of the Kings Mountain Woman’s Club and a former member of the Kings Mountain Chapter 123 Order of the Eastern Star. Camping and traveling were two of her favorite pas- times that she enjoyed with her husband and son. During her life, Mrs. King could be seen with her Bible in her lap, studying her Sunday School lesson. She was faithful to her Christian be- liefs and love of God. She loved her family and looked forward to seeing her grand- children and great-grandchil- dren. The family wishes to ex- press special thanks and enormous gratitude to the caregivers at White Oak . Manor, Kings Mountain, who displayed kindness and care to Mrs. King each day. Surviving are her son, Jerry L. King and his wife Dr. Jane King, with whom she lived in the last years of her life; grandchildren, Karen King Moser and hus- band Jeffrey of Cary; . Michael William King and wife Thelma of Mt. Lee Thomas, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiated, and interment was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Pouchak, 83, died October 3, 2010 in King’s Mountain, NC, where she. resided for 50 years. Mrs: Pouchak was born in Minneapolis, MN, the fifth of nine children. She is pre- ceded in death by her hus- band of 58 years, Dmitri (Matt) Pouchak. , Anne was born and raised during the depression era to non-English speaking Czechoslovakian immigrant . parents in the mostly ethnic Russian & Polish labor vil- lages of Minneapolis. She and her Rifivie brothers anid p. (tihirieie sisters ily working the local farms and other part time jobs to supplement their father’ s in- come as a railcar repairman. An early life of poverty shaped her energies to grow and nurture a safe and loving home for her own family. While in their early twen- ties, Anne & Matt met at a Russian Church fellowship club and soon married in St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral in Minneapolis. After the birth of their three sons, Matt to Kings Mountain in 1960 for his work with Lithium Corp (LCA) in Bessemer City. They were welcomed to this wonderful community and had great pride and appreci- ation in making their home . here, raising their sons and developing lifelong friend- ships with many. Eager to explore, they enjoyed travel- ing to the mountains and beaches and spending sum- mers at their rural lakefront cabin in Northern Min- nesota. Mrs. Pouchak was a homemaker and active in community services volun- teering ~ with schools, woman’s clubs, hospital and local blood bank. Energetic & athletic she was an avid golfer walking the courses and regularly competing in individual and team tourna- ments. Often she would bi- cycle around town with her son onboard or was seen run- ning errands while driving in her tiny “Baby Blue” Fiat 2 door convertible. A personal passion for Anne was her love of flowers and the joy gained in growing and adorning her home with them and the compliments DWI and hit and run, $2500 bond, unsecured. Survivors include her sons, Paul Pouchak of Shelby, NC, Jason Pouchak of Orange, CA, Hilary Pouchak of Carlsbad, CA, five siblings and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at The Nativity of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church in Char- lotte, NC, on October 6, with Father William Mills offici- ating. Anne and Matt were founding members of this’ church, and were instrumen- tal in its design and con- struction. Interment was at Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews, NC, a setting with rolling hills, mixed hardwood and pine forests and the red earth, so reminis- cent of their native Min- nesota. Locke, 81, 528 St. Luke Church Rd., died Tuegday,October, 19, 2010, at Cleveland Regional Med- ical Center in Shelby; A private family service will be announced at a later date. Dr. John Doerr COLUMBUS, NC - John Charles Doerr, 92, died Monday, October 25, 2010 at Tryon Estates. He was born Aug. 8, 1918 in Cincin- nati, Ohio, son of the late Colonel Charles ‘Edward Doerr and Elizabeth “Bessie” Allison Doerr. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 29, 2010 at 2pm at First Presby- terian Church in Kings Mountain. Hamrick said that David Lee Walls, 125 Rollingbrook Rd., was backing from a parking “stall at Hardees and struck a 1995 Honda operated by Brenda P. Tesner of Shelby. . Falls arrested after chase Tony Anthony Falls, 53, Kings Mountain, was arrested Wednesday after a vehicle chase, according to a press re- lease from the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department. “On Oct. 20 the sheriff’s office responded to a call for service at 519 Crocker Road and a vehicle chase ensued from that residence,” accord- ing to the press release. Cleveland County deputies were assisted by North Carolina Highway Pa- trol and the Kings Mountain Police Department in appre- hending the suspect near Wat- terson Road and Walker Street in Kings Mountain. Falls told officers he had taken a large number of pre- scription pills. Falls is cur- rently receiving = medical treatment, according to deputies.
