Page 2A OBITUARIES The Kings Mountain Herald Teresa Dendy GROVER - Teresa Bid- dix Dendy, 45, 1122-1 Lavender Rd., died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at her home. She was born in Cleve- land County to the late Lee T. “Red Baron” Biddix and Inez Belk Biddix. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Dendy. She was a member of New Buffalo Baptist Church. Surviving are her broth- ers, Johnny Biddix and Tracy Brafford of Morgan- ton, and Raymond Biddix and wife, Sherry of Kings Mountain; and sisters, Deb- bie Bachelder and husband Tim of Cherryville, and Nancy Ware and Tina Seay and husband Tim all of Kings Mountain. The memorial service will be conducted Friday, January 21, at 2 p.m. at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel at Harris Funeral Home. She was born in Caldwell County, NC to the late Al- fred and Lucy Mayes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin Hardin, two brothers and six sisters. She was a homemaker and charter member of East Kings Mountain Church of God, where she was Sunday school secretary for many years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to sing and loved - walking at the Kings Moun- tain Senior Center and visit- ing White Oak Manor. She loved her God and her fam- ily dearly. Surviving are her hus- band of 18 years, Kenneth Kitzmiller of Kings Moun- tain; sons, Gene Mayes and wife, Shirley of Kings Mountain and Clyde Hardin of Kings Mountain; daugh- ters, Martha Weaver and husband, Larry of Gastonia, and Gloria Heath and hus- band, Rev. John Heath of Kings Mountain; stepdaugh- ter, Carolyn Pruitt; sister, Juanita Ramsey of Lincol- nton; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. The family received friends following the service at the church. She was born in Albe- - marle on March 26, 1955. Terri was the daughter of Joann Sides Huntley and the late Bob Sides of Harrisburg. She was a very creative and artistic person that enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren. She was a retired teacher’s assistant at Harrisburg Ele- mentary School for 13 years and drove a school bus. Ac- cording to her family, she was an awesome Mom, Grammy, wife, friend, cook, teacher, daycare operator, preschool teacher, referee, decorator, house painter and gardener. She was a member of Mallard Creek Presbyte- rian Church in Charlotte. Survivors include her loving husband of 39 years, Carl Spradley; one son, Seth Spradley and wife, Kather-: ine; two daughters, Nichole Spradley Sellers and hus- band, Brian, and Molly Spradley Rice and husband, Josh; six grandchildren that were the center of her uni- verse, Zoe Sellers, Regan Sellers, Jenna Rice, Makayla Rice, Charles Spradley and Nev Spradley; one sister, Stacy Sides Gherardi and husband Pete of Harrisburg; and one brother, Kent Sides and wife Kim of Harrisburg; and mother-in-law, Lois Spradley of Harrisburg. Hastings participated in a swearing-in ceremony on the Cleveland-Gaston line on Jan. 1. He plans to participate in an- other swearing-in ceremony, in Raleigh, on Jan. 26. Christmas at Fair big hit in December Christmas at the Fair turned out to be a prefty big hit last month at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. Over 3,000 shoppers reportedly vis- ited the fair during the three day event and took advantage of some holiday shopping. Kids loved the petting zoo, the tram ride and visiting Santa. The fair also collected a . truckload of canned goods and toys for kids. These were do- _ nated to the Greater Cleveland County Baptist Association to be distributed to the needy in Cleveland County. Summit Place holds meeting for in-home caregivers Summit Place Assisted Living and Memory Care of Kings Mountain kicked off an In-Home Caregivers Monthly Social Hour and support group meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 18.
