The Kings Mountain Herald Wednesday, February 2, 2011 SS RR Sm % PoLICE Log Ted Huffman BLACKSBURG, SC - Ted Huffman, 67, of 240 Huffman Hill Road, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at his residence. Born in Blacksburg, Mr. Huffman was the husband of Lara Danilova Huffman of the’home and the son of the late Theodore Huffman, Sr. and Mary Magdalene Wilson : : es —Huff- ther and hus - band, as well as a self-em- ployed contractor, a former vice-chairman of the Chero- kee County School Board, he was a former trustee of Antioch Volunteer Fire De- partment, and was a member of the National Guard. He was also a member of First Wesleyan Church of Kings Mountain, where he was a former Sunday School teacher. In addition to his wife, - Mr. Huffman is survived by two sons, Joel Ted Huffman of Gaffney and. Timothy Brian Huffman of Blacks- burg; two daughters, Emily Huffman Hawkins of Union, SC and Cynthia Huffman Howard of St. Augustine, FL; four grandchildren; Brandon Keith Huffman, Amber Hughes, Makenzie Huffman, and Cheyenne Huffman; one great-grand- daughter, Destiny Mae Huff- man; three brothers, Houston Huffman of Myrtle Beach, Olin Huffman of Blacks- burg, and Calvin Huffman of Blacksburg; and two sisters, Nancy Proctor of Kings Mountain and Christine Bridges of Blacksburg. In addition to his parents, Mr. Huffman was preceded in death by three brothers, Theodore (J.R.) Huffman, Jr, Clyde Huffman, and William (Buddy) Huffman, Sr., and a sister, Marie Wil= son; The family received friends Friday, January 28, 2011 at Gordon Mortuary from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Graveside services were held Saturday, January 29, 2011, at 1p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Welch, Sr. KINGS MOUNTAIN - Charles Richard Welch Sr., 68, of 133-1 Tiara Dr., died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011 at his BRIEFS home. Born in Chester County, SC . he was the son of the late Charles Welch and Edna Ashley Lang and was also pre- ceded in death by fio ur brothers * and four sisters. He retired from AKSYS USA of Gastonia and was a member of the NRA, enjoyed fishing, camping and the outdoors and was a NASCAR fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He served in the US Army stationed in Korea. The family would like to ex- tend a special thanks to Hos- pice Caregivers Gwen Wade and LouAnn Devine.
