Cynthia Carroll NEW BERN - Ms. Cyn- thia Y. Carroll, Esq. a resi- dent of New Bern, died Sunday March 6, 2011 at Carolina East Hospital fol- lowing a brief illness. A vis- itation with the family will be held Wednesday March 9, from 6-8 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 8 p.m. in the chapel of the Cotten Fu- neral Home, 2201 Neuse Blvd., New Bern, NC 28560. Cindy Carroll and her husband Gary Tiddy moved to New Bern in 1984 shortly after they were married. Cindy taught school at H. J. McDonald middle school. After teaching for several years in grades 6-8 she re- turned to school to study law. She attended NC Central School of Law where she earned her law degree and passed the Bar. Cindy. has practiced Education Law and Family Law while con- ducting her practice in New Bem. : Cindy loved to travel es- pecially to New York City and the Caribbean. Jimmy Buffett and his version of the “Little Latitudes” was where she longed to be whenever the chance arose. OBITUARIES Cindy is survived by her mother, Joan Carroll of Kings Mountain; her hus- band, Gary Tiddy of New Bern; two daughters, Shelley Rohm of Winston-Salem and Courtney Boyd of Raleigh; her sister, Diane Randall and husband David of Kings Mountain; her brother, Keith Carroll and wife Roxanne of Chicago, Ill; two grand- daughters, Kaili Boyd age 10 and Katelyn Boyd age 8; niece, Pam Bivins of Kings Mountain; and nephew, Wade Randall also of Kings Mountain. An active and lifelong member of El Bethel United Methodist Church in Kings Mountain, she was a mem- ber of the Kings Mountain Woman’s Club and Tele- phone Pioneers and a velun- teer for the Kings Mountain Hospital Auxiliary and the Kings Mountain Relay for Lie. She retired from Bell- south after 35 years of serv- ice. Surviving are her daugh- ters, Marlene C. Reynolds and husband John of Mount Holly and Robin C. March 9, 2011 A member of Bethlehem * Baptist Church, he was a member of the Pal Sunday School Class, a charter member of the Bethlehem Fire Department and served in the United States Army during World War II in Japan. He was co-owner of Bethlehem Piping and Weld- ing and a loving husband, fa- ther, grandfather and brother.
