Wednesday, April 6, 2011 TR LIFESTYLES Sheldons celebrate 65 years together Mr. and Mrs. Odas Sheldon Contributed by Terrie Armstrong Kings Mountain residents Odas and Ruth Sheldon cele- brated their 65th wedding anniversary on March 31st. The couple was married in 1946. They met at the Phenix plant in Kings Mountain, Odas served in the United States Army. They both retired from Ar- lington Mills in Gastonia. Odas also served as the Chaplain for the Kings Mountain Rescue for 11 years. He began preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ 38 years ago. Although he is 87 and Mrs. Sheldon is 88 years old they continue to minister as a couple in six different rest homes weekly. They also have a weekly radio program that airs on Wednesday at 3 p.m. on 1590 AM. When asked the key to having been married for 65 years the loving couple responds that they have always treated each other fairly, respect each other and they treat each other as they would want to be treated.
