Sheldons celebrate
65 years together
Mr. and Mrs. Odas Sheldon
Contributed by Terrie Armstrong
Kings Mountain residents Odas and Ruth Sheldon cele-
brated their 65th wedding anniversary on March 31st. The
couple was married in 1946.
They met at the Phenix plant in Kings Mountain, Odas
served in the United States Army. They both retired from Ar-
lington Mills in Gastonia. Odas also served as the Chaplain
for the Kings Mountain Rescue for 11 years.
He began preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ 38 years
ago. Although he is 87 and Mrs. Sheldon is 88 years old they
continue to minister as a couple in six different rest homes
weekly. They also have a weekly radio program that airs on
Wednesday at 3 p.m. on 1590 AM.
When asked the key to having been married for 65 years
the loving couple responds that they have always treated each
other fairly, respect each other and they treat each other as
they would want to be treated. It was a happy anniversary. |
