Page 2A / a TH es, OBITUARIES The Kings Mountain Herald Wednesday, April 20, 2011 Bill Anderson SHELBY - William E. “Bill” Anderson, 62, 928 Pleasant Dr., died Sunday, April 17,2011 at Wendover Hospice. Born in Cleveland ‘County, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret ~ Harrill Anderson and was preceded in death by his wives, Pamela Jean Lock- ridge Anderson and Sheila Dianne Estes Anderson. A lifetime member of Penley’s Chapel Church where he served as an elder, he was a lifetime member of Oak Grove Fire Department and was an employee for 23 years at Cunningham Brick, Kings Mountain. Surviving are his son, Shane Anderson and wife Terri of Shelby; daughters, Rise A. McKelvey and hus- band Henry, Cowpens, SC, and Dana A. Dussinger of New Jersey; a sister, Barbara Anderson of Grover; and nine grandchildren, Pamela, Austin, Ashley, Josh, Brooke, Eddie, Tyler, Sarah and Brandon and two great- grandchildren, Makayla and Logan. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, April 20, at 1 p.m. at Pen- ley’s Chapel Church Rev. Doug Allen and Rev. Melvin Proctor will officiate’and in- terment will be in Sunset Cemetery in Shelby. The family received friends Tuesday night, April 19, from 7-9 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home and at other times at the home of the son, 928 Pleasant Dr., Shelby. A retired chemist with Lithium Corporation, Besse- . mer City, he served in the US Army and was a member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, fishing, and chasing trains. He was a loving hus- band, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Shirley Greene King of the home; daughters, Debra King Shaw and Christy King, both of Kings’ Mountain, and Sherri King Camp of Dallas; four grand- children, - Jennifer Camp Lemley, Bryony Camp, Bill McKenzie and Megan Pat- terson; and one great-grand- child, Kristen Lemley. The funeral service was conducted Tuesday, April 19, at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. Rev. Greg Neely officiated and intet- ment was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. The family spoke to fam- ily and friends immediately after the service at the ceme- tery and visitation was at other times at the home at 160 Bill King Road in Kings Mountain. Born in Cleveland County to Ruby Garver Greene and the ‘late Tom Greene, she was also pre- ceded in death by a son, Lemuel Monroe Terry. She was re- tired from the textile industry. Sur- viving, in addi- tion to hei mother : of Forest City, are her hus- band of 18 years, Lemuel Loyd Terry of the home; sons, Arthur Kennedy and Ronald Kennedy and wife, Nancy, all of Shelby; daugh- ters, Tammy Patterson of Kings Mountain and Kyron Wiseman of Grover; broth- ers, Earl Greene and Wayne Greene both of Ellenboro; Miles Greene of Moores- boro; Rocky Greene of Rutherford County; Ricky Greene of Spindale and Donnie Greene of Union Mills; sisters, Barbara Cooke of Ellenboro, Milan Gatlin of Spindale and Wanda Smith of Asheville; 13 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren. T— Ho Ww a s born in Gaston County on No- vember 9, 1933, a son of the late Lonus and Janie Rowe Dameron Valentine, Sr. He was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he was a member of the choir. He was a retired local “dispatcher with Car- olina Freight Carriers, and was a veteran of the US Army. ; In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Vic Valentine in 1979. Survivors include his children, Vivette Leonhardt and husband Steve of Lin- colnton, Velvet Champion and husband Tommy of Cherryville, and Dane Valentine of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Trenton and Haley Champion; and a brother, Ray Valentine of Shelby. A memorial graveside service was held Sunday, April 17, at 2:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery with Dr. Robert Allen officiating. The family received friends Sunday in the Vida Dellinger Ladies Parlor of the church prior to the service.
