Page 2A a Eo Joanie Frederick KINGS MOUNTAIN - Joan L. “Joanie” Frederick, 60, passed away at her home in Kings Moun- tain on Sunday, July 24, 2.091 after a Bl ong fl hard bat- : tle with carcinoid cancer. She was born in Akron, Ohio on May 23, 1951 and graduated from St. Sebastian grade school and Buchtel High School in 1969. She was preceded in death by her father, William F. Keuhnling and her son, Eric Archer. She was a dental as- sistant for 30 years and also taught dental assisting for one year at the Median Dental School in Pittsburgh, Penn. Joanie was a very talented artist and enjoyed gardening and her friends. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Shelby. A special thanks to Hospice of Kings Mountain for their help and wonderful care. Also, a special thanks for the people of Kings Mountain and sur- rounding areas for all their love and support provided over the years. Joanie was a fun-loving lady, always with a smile that would light up a room. Kings Mountain’s Night Out Against Crime Tuesday was an annual effective, en- joyable program promoting neighborhood spirit and po- lice and firemen community partnerships in a fight for a safer America. He was a member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church in Kings Mountain for many years and was a former deacon and treasurer. He was also a mem- ber of the Kings Mountain Lions Club. Gene was a kind, gentle and generous man. He was hardworking and had a great sense of humor, often enter- taining family with his funny country sayings. Although he retired from farming, he never lost his love of the land., Fam- ily and friends will miss the countless vegetables they en- joyed during his “growing season.” The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Perkins and the staff of White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain, for their lov- ing care.
