They: are recent grad- uates of Kings Mountain High School. KM students win scholarships The Kings Mountain Hospital Auxiliary has awarded $2,000 scholarships to three Kings Mountain High School graduating sen- iors - Jessica Burton, Jacob Boyd and Olivia Oliver and the three students were guests at the recent Auxiliary meeting and gave their plans for the future. Daughter of Carl Allen and Annette Put- nam Burton, Jessica will enter the Nursing program at Gaston College in the fall and transfer to UNC at Charlotte to receive her RN degree. Burton wants to work in Pediatrics or with special needs patients. At KMHS,; she at- tended Huskins classes at Cleveland Commu- nity College and received her CNA certification. She also participated in Code Teen education classes at Cleveland Regional Medial Center. She played varsity volleyball, was active in KMHS Band, Beta Club, Na- tional Honor Society, National Technical So- ciety and Health Education Career Students. Jacob Boyd is the son of Gregory and Melissa Boyd and he plans to study Biology /with long-range goal to become a general practice physician. His first semester this fall will be at Cleveland Community College and in the spring transfer to Appalachian State University. At KMHS he was active in Health Education Careers, National Honor Society, played tennis and ran cross country. He vol- unteered at Hospice, job shadowed at Cleve- land Regional Medical Center and at Kings Mountain Hospital and local medical offices. Daughter of Nina Gwendolyn Oliver, Olivia will be attending Meredith College to study Biology and a long term goal to become a pediatrician and work in the Cleveland County area. At KMHS she was active in h National Honor Society, Beta Club, KmHS Band, KM Band Association and the Honor Music Society. She participated in the Code Teen program at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Donations to the Auxiliary’s “Tree of Love” at Kings Mountain Hospital December supports the scholarship program. Handmade crystal angels may be placed on the tree for a $10 donation in memory or in honor of a loved one. The Christmas tree, is located in the hospital lobby during the month of De- cember. To make a donation to the scholarship project contact an Auxiliary member or Kings Mountain Hospital volunteer.
