Mildred Ferguson GASTONIA - Mildred Layton Ferguson, 88, resi- dent of Gastonia, died Nov. 26,2011 at her home. She was born on July 4, 1923 in Cleveland County to the late John L. Layton a ‘nid Mary Eliza- bie th Cashion Layton Bailey and was also pre- ceded in death by her hus- band of 53 years, Roy Haskell Ferguson Jr.; broth- ers, John Layton Jr. and Arthur Bailey; sisters, Mary Francis Bailey, Sally Whit- worth, Ellen Denham, Beat- rice Falls and Aileen McGinnis. Mildred was a beloved sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a vir- tuous woman full of love, wisdom and kindness. She was always generous with her time to help her family. Fun-loving, her family has many treasured memories of times spent together. She loved others with all her heart and was loved in re- turn. She lived her life well. She was a member in long standing at First Baptist Church in Gastonia. We will miss her enormously but are thankful to our. Lord for al-’ lowing us to have this pre- cious woman for as long as we did.
