KINGS MOUNTAIN -
Donald “Don” Carl Setzer,
74, resident of Kings Moun-
tain, went to be with Jesus
on Dec. 16, 2011 at Kings
to the late Carl Pinkney Set-
zer and Doris Fields Lanier.
A retired auto parts sales-
man and from Ultra Fabrica-
tion in Kings Mountain, he
attended True Gospel Holi-
ness Church in Kings Moun-
tain, loved woodworking
and was a great and loving
husband, Dad and Paw Paw.
Surviving are his wife of
51 years, Linda Pennington
Setzer of the home; sons,
David Setzer and wife,
Tammy, of Blacksburg, SC
and Tim Setzer and wife,
Jodie, of Gastonia; daughter,
Donna Setzer Furr and Ray
Alexander of. Winston-
Salem; brother, Bob Setzer
of Florida; sister, Ann Jones
and husband, Jim, of Gasto-
seven grandchildren:
Crystal, Michelle, Ashley,
Dale Jr., Bradley, Timothy
and” Seth; and two great-
grandchildren: Lindsay and
Brooke.
The funeral service was
conducted Monday, Dec. 19,
2011 at 2 p.m. at True
Gospel Holiness church.
Rev. Tim Setzer, Rev. Ray
Whittington, and Revs. Rick
and LeAnn Chapman offici-
ated and interment was in
Mountain Rest Cemetery in
Kings Mountain.
The family received
friends Sunday evening,
Dec. 18, 2011 from 6-8:30
p.m. at Harris funeral Home
in Kings Mountain and at
other times at the home.

Lamar Dee said that a parked
1996 Buick owned by Martha
Cochran, 605 Temple St., was
damaged by a driver who
backed into the vehicle and
left the scene.

Davis said that a vehicle op-
erated by Caitlyn Braunns,
209 Chadwick Dr., struck a
parked 1994 Chevy owned by
Jason Thompson, 407
Pineview Dr. in the KMHS
parking lot doing minor dam-
age.
DEC. 9: Officer .G: L.
~ McKinney said that the driver
of a vehicle owned by
Schwans Home Service, Mon-
roe, backed into a 1997 Saturn
operated by Brooklyn Roberts,
154 Cane Dr., at Kingswood
Apartments parking lot.
DEC. ‘11: Officer’ FL;
Whittington said that Dorian
Jeffries of Gaffney, S C, oper-
ating a 2000 Chevy, was driv-
ing on I-85 South and two cars
in front of him wrecked. Jef-
fries said he pulled to the side
of he road and hit the guard
rail doing $1500 damage to
his vehicle.

Wilkinson cited Larry Gene
Sullens, of Cherryville, with
driving with license revoked,
hit and run, and leaving the
scene of an accident after he
struck a parked 2001 Ford
owned by Melissa Moore of
Gastonia. The accident hap-
pened on NC 216 Highway
troopers charged Sullens with
DWI. The vehicles were dam-
aged an estimated $1500.
DEC. 13: Officer Jason
Lamar Dee said that a 1993
BMW operated by Devin
Thompson, 298 Crocker Rd.,
and a 1997 Ford operated by
Martha Myers Rhyne of
Grover were traveling south
on NC 216. Rhyne failed to
reduce speed and her vehicle
rear-ended the vehicle oper-
ated by Thompson. Property
damages were estimated at
$2500.
DEC. 14: Officer K. L.
cited Jonathan Castro Alvarez,
Huntersville, with driving
while license revoked after the
2007 he was driving rear-
ended a 1997 Ford on York
Road doing minor damages.
DEC. 14: Officer K. L.
Putnam said that a 2009
Chevy operated by Lois Hayes
of Shelby struck a 2004 Chevy
operated by Angela Wilson,
106 Yarbro Road, Lot 4. The
accident happened as Hayes
was pulling from the parking
lot of the Red Top Village on
Shelby Road and Wilson was
traveling West on Shelby
Road. Wilson and three pas-
sengers were transported to
+ Kings Mountain Hospital.
Property damages were esti-
mated at $3500.
DEC. 16: Officer Bryan
McGinnis said that a commer-
cial vehicle operated by Rod-
ney Wynn of Lancaster, SC
and a 2003 Chevy operated by
Daniel Briney of Crete, IL,
were attempting to make a left
turn off NC 161 onto the ramp
for I-85 North. Briney said he
made a wide turn and hit the
tire of the truck doing no dam-
age to the truck but an esti-
mated $1,000 damage to his
car.
DEC. 18: Officer Bryan
McGinnis said a hit and run
driver struck a parked 2000
Chevy in the parking lot of
Waffle House on York road
doing an estimated $1200
damage. The car is owned by
James Martin Gregory of
Grover.
FBLA fakes Yule cheer
Kings Mountain High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club members
chose Summit Place of Kings Mountain as one of their.community service projects to bring
Christmas cheer to the residents. Since Summit Place was hosting its 10th annual Parade
of Homes, the members decorated a tree in the FBLA theme depicting various technology
and business tools. The FBLA Christmas tree is on display fthrough January 1.
