Dr. Stan- ley Spence and Rev. Ken Morris officiating. Burial followed in Gaston Memo- rial Park in Gastonia. The family received friends on Tuesday, prior to the serv- ice, at First Baptist Church of Lincolnton. Mr. Cline was born on September 28, 1933 son of the late Ray and Nellie Uren Cline. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for thirty-five years before re- tiring. He wads preceded in death by his first wife Odies Faulkner Cline; step- mother, Elizabeth Huff- stickler Cline; and one brother, Ray Carroll Cline. Mr. Cline also served his country during the Korean Ralph Dalton Cline Sr. War in the Navy. Survivors include his wife Franna White Cline of the home; three'sons, Ralph D. “Butch” Cline and wife Sandy of Gastonia, Samuel Lee Cline and wife Randi of Kings Mountain, and David Mason Cline and wife Michelle of Harris- | burg; one stepson, Travis Deaton and wife Susan of LaPorte City, Iowa; one stepdaughter, Stephanie Deaton of Lincolnton; one brother, Larry Cline and wife Katherine of Griffin, Ga.; three sisters, Joyce Howell and husband Ray, Dixie Blanton, and Peggy Wells, all of Kings Moun- tain; one sister-in-law, Doris Cline of Flagstaff, AZ.; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Dixon, 90, resident of 1826 Shelby Rd., died | August 26, 2012 at ‘his home. He was born in Gas- ton County, son’ of the late Bunn a nd Lena Ran- Dixon. I n addi- tion to his parents, he was also pre- ceded in death by his wife Rose Smith Dixon, one | was retired from Bennett Brick and Tile and was a master craftsman, a mem- ber of Family Worship Center in Kings Mountain and former member of the Bethware * Progressive Club. He loved deep sea fishing. He also was an army veteran of WWII, who served in the European Theater and received three Bronze Service Stars, a Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. Mr. Dixon did not have any children of his own but he knew how to be a special friend to a little boy named Avery, who: grew into a wonderful young man and was also Mr. Dixon’s care- giver. Avery had a special bond with Fred and was like a son to him. Mr. Dixon was a loving hus- | band, who never met a stranger, and was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Fred Dixon .
