Woody Deeply missed KINGS MOUNTAIN- Opal Foster Woody, 77, of 9:12 First Street, passed away Friday, De: - cem- ber 14, 2012 at her residence. A native of Cleveland County, she was born August 9, 1935, daughter of the late Howard O’Grady and Sarah Myers Foster. God has gained our precious angel we had here on earth, we loved her with all our hearts and she will be deeply missed. She is.survived by one brother, Henry Foster of the home; her loving caretaker who was like a daughter to her, Trina Whitaker; also OBITUARIES many other nieces, nephews and her great nieces and nephews, Will, Austin, Nicholas, Seth, and Emily who referred to her as “Maw Maw Opal”. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Clay- Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain. Chaplain Terry Floyd and Rev. Bruce Davis officiated. Interment was in Mountain Rest Ceme- tery. Burton US Marine Corps veteran CROSS HILL, SC-Don- ald Wayne Burton, Sr. age 70, 302 Pelican Harbor Drive, died Saturday, De- cember 15, 2012 in New- berry County. He was born in Kings Mountain, N.C. and was a son of the late Bonnie T. Burton and Leona Huff- stetler Anthony. Mr. Burton was retired from the Eaton Corporation in Greenwood and was a member of the Cross Hill Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of Bethabara Bap- tist Church and a former dea- con of First Baptist Church of Cross Hill. Mr. Burton was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving in Vietnam. He loved to deer hunt and fish. Surviving are his wife, JoAnn Chapman Burton of the home; four sons, Shane Burton, Donald Wayne Bur- ton II and Ryan Burton, all of Vale, N.C., and Zeddie Reaves Shull III of the home; a daughter, Sabrina Ann Shull of Belmont; four grandchildren, Steven Chase Burton, Adrian Burton, Lukas Kyle Burton and Har- lie Bryanna Burton; a brother, Adrian Anthony of Shelby, N.C.; and a sister, Debbie Donavon of Shelby, NC. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Bethabara Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Zeldia Hope Carr KINGS MOUNTAIN - Zeldia Hope Carr, 80, resi- dent of White Oak Manor, Shelby, NC, went to be with the Lord on December 17, 2012 at Wendover Hospice, Shelby, NC. She was born in Cleve- land County, NC to the late George J. Hope and Maggie Humphries Hope. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Barry Carr, four sisters and seven brothers. Mrs. Carr was a graduate of the School for the Deaf, Morganton, NC and was re- tired from Duke Power Company. She was a loving sister who loved basketball, playing while she was in school. Zeldia touched many lives and was a won- derful, wonderful person. Surviving are her broth- ers: Rev. Bob Hope and wife Betty Ruth, Kings Mountain, and Steve Hope and wife, Brenda, Gastonia; and sister, Doris Grigg, Kings Moun- tain.
