For SECU mem- bers, the move maximizes usage of the existing facilities and equipment of their not- for-profit cooperative, while helping to mitigate costs as- sociated with developing and operating separate contact center facilities. The on- shoring concept is focused on bringing jobs to areas of North Carolina experiencing high unemployment. As one of the top 50 employers in the State, SECU currently em- ploys over 4,500 staff mem- bers and has locations in all 100 North Carolina counties. ‘Operating on a 24/7 basis, SECU Contact Centers are now equipped with Unified Communications technology to seamlessly answer mem- ber calls in multiple areas of the State. This technology, combined with 248 branch locations, allows the Credit Union to offer Contact Cen- ter positions in not only six urban areas of North Car- olina, but also. ten high-un- employment rural areas, where job creation is making a positive impact. Take for instance, the impact being made in Robbinsville, lo- cated in Graham County where the main industry is tourism and seasonal jobs.
