He was born in Morgan Co., AL, to the late Grady Arnold death by his son, Donald Grady Arnold, Jr. and sister, Nancy Arnold. Mr. Arnold was a truck driver and a mechanic who enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, working on auto- mobiles, and watching West- erns. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and attended First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed. Harris Ffuneral Home Jacob “Gene” Coxen Devoted husband, father, grandfather KINGS MOUNTAIN — Jacob Eugene “Gene” Coxen, 85, a resident of 911 Wildwood Drive, died Satur- day, March 23, 2013 at his home. He was born in York, PA, son of the late Jacob Coxen a nd Bertha also pre- ceded in death by his first wife, Anna Mae Smith Coxen. A member of Dixon Pres- byterian Church where he served as Elder, he was re- tired from the US Army after service in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. He had also retired from . Boston Gear Company in Charlotte. Mr. Coxen was a Mason and member of the Rising Sun Masonic Lodge, Manila, Philippines, and a past Asso- ciate Grand Guardian of Pennsylvania and Interna- tional Order of Job’s Daugh- ters. He was a past board member of the Black Moun- tain Children’s Home. Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Barbara A. Julius Coxen of the home; sons, Ronald Coxen and wife, Cynthia, San Antonio, Texas, and Scott Chamberlain of York, PA; two daughters, Connie Coxen Petcher and husband Ronald, Roseland, VA, and Michele Knaub, Dillsburg, PA; one brother, Richard Coxen, Georgia; one sister, Esther Prouse, Kannapolis, NC; five grand- children and five great- grandchildren. The memorial service will be conducted Saturday, March 30, at 6 p.m. at Dixon Presbyterian Church. Rev. Randy Patterson, pastor, will officiate. He Ww a s born in Cleveland County, NC to the late Lester Clarence Hord, Sr. and Min- nie Baldin Hord. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters. Mr. Hord was owner and operator of The Frame Ware- house, Gastonia, NC. He served in the United States Army and Navy. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his grandsons. She was born in Gaston County, NC to the late William Thomas and Sarah Jane Dixon Howell and was also preceded in death by her sisters, Catherine Barrett and Grace Ledford and brothers, Boyd Howell, James How- ell, Roy Howell and Robert Howell. Mrs. Teague was a mem- ber of Kings Mountain Bap- tist Church. Surviving are her son, Phillip Russ and wife, Donna; daughter, Linda Russ Morrow and husband, Frank; . brother, Ray Howell and wife, Joyce; and sister Betty Page and husband, Pete, all of Kings Mountain; six grandchildren, David Bolton, Pam Howze, Tammy Horne, Tim Bell, Kris Lath- orp and Charles Morrow; 13 great-grandchildren ~~ and three great-great grandchil- dren.
