Rainy weather can mean
rough driving conditions
Rainy weather was blamed for several wrecks in
which police reported cars hydroplaned on wet roads.
Officer H. W. Carpenter said that Robert William
Hawkins, Blacksburg, SC, was traveling on Highway 74
Bypass on July 2 when his 1998 Nissan hydroplaned in
heavy rainfall. The vehicle left the road and hit a cable
median barrier. Property damage was estimated at
