Marian Ivey Cloninger
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mar-
ian Ivey Cloninger, 88, resident
of 400 Maner Road, Kings
Mountain, N.C., died Wednes-
«day, October 30, 2013 at Summit
Place, Kings Mountain.
She was born in Decatur, Ga.,
to the late George Ivey and Lillie
~+Osborne Ivey. She was also pre-
ceded in death by her husband of
53 years, Harold C. Cloninger;
sisters, Hazel Poteat, Mildred
Parker, Sara Ivey George; broth-
ers, Paul Ivey, Alton Ivey, and
Arthur Ivey.
Mrs. Cloninger was retired
from Margrace Mills, Kings
Mountain and a faithful member
of Macedonia Baptist Church for
over 60 years. She was active at
the Patrick Senior Center. She
was a loving wife, mother, and
grandmother.
Survivors include her son J.
Scott Cloninger and wife Kay,
Kings Mountain; grandson Brian
Cloninger and wife Emily, Kings
Mountain; sister-in-law, Sara
Ivey, Kings Mountain; three
great-grandchildren, Jackson
Cloninger, Hope Cloninger,
Emma Cloninger.
A graveside service at Moun-
tain Rest Cemetery was held on
Saturday, November 2, 2013 at
11 a.m., with the Rev. James
Lockridge officiating.
Visitation was held from
9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, No-
vember 2, 2013 at Harris Funeral
Home, Kings Mountain, North
Carolina.

Marie Fretz Parsons, 52, of Eliza-
bethton,
beloved wife,
mother, grand-
mother, sister
and aunt was
received into
God’s presence
on Sunday, Oc-
tober 27, 2013,
after she sacri-
. ficed her own
life to save the lives of her daughter
and grandson in a house fire.
She was born on January 30,
1961, in Medina, Ohio and had a
great love of music and enjoyed
playing her guitar, singing songs
about her faith and walk with the
Lord. Family meant everything to
Tracy and Tracy meant everything
to her family.
She was preceded in death by her
father Dale Fretz, her mother Au-
drey Coode and husband Bob, and a
precious nephew, Austin.

She will be deeply missed by her
husband, Bill Parsons; children
Rachel (Jared), Aaron (Heather),
Esther, and Adam (Bethany);
stepchildren, Stephanie (Eric) and
Matt (Lisa). She treasured every
minute spent with her precious
grandchildren, Caira, Caden, Bailey,
Hayden, Andrew, Hanna, Gage,
Aiden, Callie, Harper and Aubree.
She is also survived by her two
younger sisters, Lori and Lois
(Mark); nephews, Luke and Avery,
along with many loving cousins and
countless friends.
The family received friends
from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Novem-
ber 1, 2013, at Carter-Trent Funeral
Home, 520 Watauga Street,
Kingsport.
A Celebration of Tracy’s life fol-
lowed at 7 p.m., with Rev. Dennis
Wilson, Rev. Steven Tilley, Pastor
Randy Johnson and Rev. Sheldon
Livesay officiating.
Graveside services were held at
2 p.m. Saturday, November 2,
2013at Oak Hill Memorial Park,
Kingsport, Tenn.
