NC to the late Grady Scism and Fern Hovis Scism. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Chelsey Lynn Scism and brother-in- law, Mike Ware. Jack was a lifelong member of Patterson Grove Baptist, Church, Kings Mountain, where he served as a Deacon and served sev- eral times as chairman. He served as former Sunday School Superintendent and Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee. He was a fourth generation lifelong farmer, owner and operator of Scism Farms. He served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany and was a charter member of the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department, retiring after 30 years of ser- vice. He was a member of the Cleveland County Farm Bu- reau Board of Directors for 44 years, having served as President three times. He was a member of the NC State Farm Bureau Board of Directors for 30 years, member of the NC Certified Seed Board of Directors for many years. Jack and his family were recipients of the Cleveland County Farm Family of the Year three times. He also received many other farm awards over the years. He was a former member of the Kings Mountain Optimist Club. Jack was a loving hus- band, father, brother, and Papaw; a Godly man who loved the Lord. His family will always appreciate the faithful Christian legacy he leaves behind. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Mona Hamrick Scism of the home; son, Neal Scism of Kings Moun- tain; daughter Danna Floyd and husband, Al, Polkville; brother, John Scism and wife, Geraldine, Bennetts- ville, SC; sisters Shirley Ware, Sadie Patterson and husband Gilbert; and Linda Paul and husband Wayne, all of Kings Mountain; six grandchildren: Adam Floyd and wife, Casey-Rae, Cher- ryville; Jennifer Scism-Ash and husband, Matt, Chi- cago, IL; Brittany Shaffer and husband, Derek, Char- lotte; Morgan Scism, Kings Mountain; Katy Floyd, Polkville, and Johnna Scism, Kings Mountain; four great-grandchildren: Emma-Rae Walker, Avery Floyd and Cheslynn and Matthew Ash. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Patterson Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Tim Hen- drick, Rev. Richard Plyler and Rev. Jerry Hubbard will officiate the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, Dec. 3, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the Family Life Center of Patterson Grove Baptist Church and other times at the home. Interment with full mili- tary honors will be provided by the Marine Corp League Foothills Detachment at Patterson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Kings Mountain. In addition to his par- ents, William Joseph Tumi- nello is survived by his siblings, Tony Tuminello, Abigail Tuminello and Chelsea Tuminello. Also surviving are his mater- nal grandmother, Marilyn Herndon, and his paternal grandparents, Marlene and Danny Ferguson, along with Uncles, Aunts, and cousins: Wayne and Leigh Hamilton and their son, Nathan; Charles and Amy Hamilton and their children, Natalie and Ben. He is pre- ceded in death by his grand- father, Charles E. Hamilton III and his step grandfather, William Herndon. He was born in Cleveland Co. NC to the late James Ray “Jim” Wright. He was also pre- ceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Wright. He was founder and pre- vious owner of ESS Auto- mation, Bessemer City, NC. Larry was a member of Yorkwood Church of God, Gastonia, NC and served in the music min- istry in various churches. He loved music, was very talented and well known for playing various instru- ments including keyboards, trombone, and guitar. He also was very gifted in writing music. Larry en- joyed playing in bands for many years and was a partner in the Ocean Blvd. Band, Shelby, NC. He enjoyed fishing, es- pecially with his brother, Danny and traveling with his wife and family. He was a Godly and devoted loving husband, father, grandfa- ther, son, and brother who loved life.
