Searches by investigators of the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit and Criminal Interdic- tion Team resulted in the seizure of 3,274 hydroco- done pills, 99 Xanax pills, 364 grams of hydroponi- cally grown marijuana, a stolen Smith & Wesson .40 caliber pistol and $5,014. The street value of all the controlled substances seized was in excess of $50,000. WRECKS NOV. 4: Officer Chris McKnight said that a parked 2014 Kia belong- ing to Earl Lainhart and parked in front of his resi- dence at 214 Ridge Street, was struck by a hit and run driver in a silver colored Honda. Property damage was minor NOV. 4: Officer Kyle Bell said a parked 2005 Nissan owned by Courtney Price of Grover was struck by a hit and run driver on York Road. Property damage was estimated at $1,000. NOV. 13: Officer Chris Tate said that Rodney Odell Carr, 117 Railroad Ave., said his foot slipped off the brake of his 2004 Mercury and hit the wall in the Sec- tion 8 Apartments on N. Railroad Avenue. Property damage was estimated at $2000. NOV. 14: Officer F.L. Wittington cited Mary Louise Timms, 943 York Road, for failure to yield right-of-way after the vehi- cle she was driving struck a pedestrian on York Road. Wittington said Timms was pulling out of the parking lot at Dollar General and said she didn’t see Johnny Eugene Cato , 41, of Gas- tonia who was riding a bi= cycle. Emergency Medical Services transported Cato to the hospital. Property damage was estimated at $850. NOV. 24: Officer Chris McKnight said that a 2012 Hyundai operated by Jen- nifer Vassey, 201 Fair- view St., rear-ended a 2015 Mazda operated by Chris- tina Hayner, 347 Pinnacle Road. The accident hap- pened on King Street. Prop- erty damage was minor. NOV. 25: Officer Josh Bryant said that Tristan Reynolds of Shelby, oper- ating a 2005 Nissan on US 74 Business, struck a deer that ran out in front of her vehicle. The deer ran away. Property damage to the car was estimated at $2500. NOV. 25: Officer J.L. Dee cited Charlotte Miller, 919 Grace St. with hit and run after Miller, operating a 1988 Chevrolet, struck a utility pole on Grace Street at James Street and left the scene. Property damage was estimated at $4500. NOV. 25: Officer J.L. Dee said that Jamey Lee Roscoe, Rockingham, op- erating a 2003 PTRB, and Michael Hargis of Ellerbe, operating a 1998 PTRB, were slowing for traffic on I-85 and Lillie Wilder of Charlotte, operating a 2005 Honda struck the Roscoe truck in the right side and rear-ended the Hargis ve- hicle before coming to rest against the center guard rail. Property damages were estimated at $3,750. NOV. 27: Officer Chi Ming Lai said that Eric Hogan, Salisbury, operating a semi truck, and Kimberly Rackley of Clover, SC, op- erating a 2004 Ford truck, hit as Hogan was making a wide turn into McDonald’s on Highway 161 and Rack- ley was attempting to pass on the right side. Property damages were estimated at $8,000. NOV. 29: Officer Chris McKnight charged Anto- nio Antwann McClain, 303 Campbell Circle, with hit and run property damage and driving with suspended license after a wreck on Cansler Street. The driver ran off the right side of the road and damaged two Kings Mountain garbage cans and also a city-owned fire hydrant. Property dam- ages were estimated at $12,500. NOV. 30: Officer J.L. Dee said that Patrick Pos- ton of Shelby and Edwin Hopper of Shelby were op- erating vehicles on the US 74 Bypass and Hopper’s car was having mechani- cal problems, lost a part of its unit and could not slow down and hit the 2005 Su- zuki operated by Poston. Hopper left the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. Property damage was esti- mated at $4,000 to the Pos- ton car. DEC. 2: Officer H.W. Carpenter. said: that Tif- fany Starr, 211 Virginia Ave. had parked her car at 608 E. King Street and it was struck by a hit and run driver in a silver colored Dodge Durango. Property damage was estimated at $1200. DEC. 5: Officer G.L. McKinney said that a 2007 Chevrolet operated by George Hayes of Lenoir, owned by Sanders Utility Construction of Charlotte, and a City of Kings Moun- tain 1999 FRHT driven by Christopher Parker, 15 Chesterfield Court, hit at the entrance of McDonald’s on York Road. Property damage was slight. DEC. 5: Officer H.W. Carpenter said that Jessica Ortiz, Coral Springs, FL., operating a 2004 Nissan, was attempting to turn into the parking lot at Bojan- gles on NC 161 and struck a 2000 Ford operated by Vick Drawdy, Calera, AL, doing estimated damage of $6500. DEC. 5: Officer Chi Ming Lai said that a 1998 Honda operated by Keith Smith, Bessemer City, rear ended a 2005 Ford oper- ated by Gary Bradley of Shelby. The accident hap- pened on US 74 Business in front of McDonald’s when Smith was merging into the left turning lane in front of Walmart and then attempted to locate a dif- ferent entrance into Weiner Works. The Smith car was in the turning lane of US 74 West attempting to make a left turn onto Castlewood Drive. Property damage was slight. DEC. 7: Officer H.W. Carpenter said that Mar- garet Ware, 204 S. Point Rd., was backing her 2011 Hyundai from a park- ing space at 218 Cleveland Ave. and struck a 2003 Toyota operated by Archie Ross of Shelby. Property damages were minor. DEC. 8: Officer J.L. Dee cited Jessica Fontenot, 802 Bethlehem Road with speeding after a three car crash on NC 216 at Dick- son Street. Dee said Regina Love, 104 Guyton Loop Apt. C, operating a 2009 Toyota, Nicholas Broome, 826 Oak Grove Rd., oper- * ating a 1992 Honda, and | Jessica Fontenot, operat- ing a 2004 Pontiac were traveling south on NC 216 * and Love and Broome had stopped at the intersection of 216 and Dickson Street so that Love could turn left onto Dickson Street. The Fontenot vehicle failed to stop and caused a chain re- action. Property damages were estimated at $11,500. Cleveland County EMS transported the injured to Kings Mountain Hospital. DEC. 8: Officer S.D. Shockley said that Caleb Herndon, 104 Timms St. was backing his 2002 Jeep in the parking lot of Wen- dy’s on NC 161 and hit a 2014 BMW operated by Jean Wyte, 403 Winter- Wm green Court. Property dam- age to the Wyte vehicle was estimated at $1000. DEC. 8: Officer J.L. Dee said that a 16-year- old student was backing a 1998 Ford in the park- ing lot of Kings Mountain High School and struck a 2001 Toyota, operated by a 16-year-old student. Prop- erty damage was minor. DEC. 10: Officer M.D. Butler said that Judy Cable, Clover, SC, operating a 2009 Nissan, struck a street sign in the parking lot of Walmart Neighborhood Market doing $500 damage ® to her car and $200 to the | sign. Cable said she was blinded by the sun. DEC. 11: Officer G.L. McKinney said that a 2012 Ford operated by Angela Petty of Shelby rear-ended a parked 2010 Jeep owned by Marlon Byers, 122 Branchwood Circle. The accident happened on N. Piedmont Avenue. Prop- erty damage was estimated at $9500. DEC.11: Officer M.D. Butler said that a 17-year- old student was backing her 2007 Saturn from a parking space at Kings Mountain High School as another 17-year-old student was driving a 2013 Toyota through the parking lot. The cars hit. Property damage was minor. DEC. 11: Officer M.D. Butler said that a hit and run driver backed into a 1999 Lexus operated by Stephen Bolton, 515 Monroe Ave. The accident happened in the parking lot at Linwood Shell Station.
