tain, NC, where a large
number of loved family
and friends still reside,

ated from Kings Moun-
tain High School. After
high school, she attended
Lees-McRae Presbyterian
College in Banner Elk,
NC and earned an Associ-
ate of Arts degree. While
at Lees-McRae, she made
more life-long friends. She
joined them, at least yearly,
to attend Alumni functions
for the rest of her life.
After college, Jane
moved to Raleigh, NC
where she met and married
H.A. Fairfax and had her
first two children Laura,
then Paul. After moving
to Charlotte, Jane had her
third child, Jane Ellen.
Jane was member of
Selwyn Avenue Presbyte-
rian Church. Her church
gave her a home from
which to worship God, and
it also provided her with the
gift of many loved and life-
long friends.
For 28 years, Jane was
employed by Eastern Air-
lines; first as a reservation
agent, later as a vacation
planner. The friends she
made at Eastern Airlines
were cherished and her
friendships with them life-
long. After the demise
of Eastern Airlines, Jane
worked as a Travel Agent
making more cherished
friends until her retirement.
Jane devoted her time
and love to her family,
church, and many civic ac-
tivities. She was a member
the Eastern Airlines Re-
tirement Association, the
Lees-McRae Alumni As-
sociation, the Eastern Star,
and was a volunteer with
the Salvation Army.
Jane was blessed with
the love of many friends
and returned that love by
serving as Deacon and
Elder of Selwyn Ave.
Presbyterian Church. In
2005, she was presented
an Honorary Life Mem-
bership by the Presbyte-
rian Women, Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.). She was
her class representative,
Distinguished Alumna of
Lees-McRae College, and
president of the Alumni
Association for many years.
Finally, she served as Wor-
thy Matron of her Eastern
Star chapter. All of these
positions gave her the op-
portunity to return the love
and devotion to her friends
that they had given her.
Jane is survived by her
daughter Laura A. Fairfax
(Leah) of Pittsboro, NC and
her son Paul F. Fairfax (Liz)
of Lino Lakes, MN; her
