She was born in Ala- bama to the late R. J. Essary and Ruth Arnold Essary. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Tay- lor Essary, Paul Essary, and Donald Essary. S he was born on Jan- vary 17, 1948 in Cleveland County and was a daughter of Beauford Jack Houser and Hazel Parker Houser both of Lawndale. She is survived by her husband, Faye Dwight Shoup; son, Robert Chap- man and wife Renee of Sherrills Ford; daughter, Tracy C. Mike Sisk KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mike Sisk, 57, of Kings Mountain, went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2015 at his home. He was born in Gaston County son of the late Johnny George Sisk. He was also pre- ceded in death by his sister, Sherry Sisk and his sister- in-law, Debra Sisk. He was an avid Tar Heels fan, served in the United States Marine Corp. and a loving father and grandfather. Morrison grad- uated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San An- tonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included train- ing in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. MARCH 13: A resident of Morris Street reported that his car tag was stolen. MARCH 13: Wal-Mart 7146, 1011 Shelby Road, reported shoplifting. WRECKS FEB. 25: Officerl.L. Dee said that Jessie Lopez, Winnabow, NC, lost con- trol of her 2003 Pontiac on NC 216 and struck a tele- phone pole. The driver was transported to the hospital. Property damages were es- timated at $5,000. FEB. 27: Officer M.J. Howard charged Chad Dale Borgo, 508 Butler Court, Gastonia, with DWI, care- less and reckless driving and driving while license revoked. Borgo was back- ing from a residence at ‘111 Monta Vista Drive and knocked down Crystal Blanton and her son, Kam- ron, his 2005 Chrysler then hitting several bushes and trees. The Blantons were transported to Cleveland Regional Medical Center for treatment of multiple cuts and abrasions, accord- ing to the officer. Property damage was estimated at $5,000. MARCH 4: Officer H. W. Carpenter said that a vehicle operated by James Walter Ramey Jr., 109 Co- lonial Drive, and Misha Cole, 602 Phenix St. N o. B, operating a 2014 Kia, hit on US 74 Business when Ramey, operating a 1994 Ford, didn't signal when he made a right turn. Property damages were estimated at $8,000. MARCH 4: Officer H. W. Carpenter said that a driver left the scene after a wreck on NC 161 involv- ing a 2006 Chrysler oper- ated by Sarah Silcott, 904 Monroe Avenue. Property damage was estimated at $5,000. MARCH 5: Officer Chris L. Tate charged Ricky Lee Sprouse, 205 Linwood Road, with DWI after Sprouse lost con- trol of his 1999 Pontiac on NC 216 while attempting to make a right turn onto North Piedmont Avenue. The car hit a sign and pole. Property damage was esti- mated at $2700. MARCH 5: Officer M.J. Howard said that Lavon Demetrius Robertson, 523 Belvedere Circle, was back- ing from a parking space at 212 West King Street and struck a 2004 Jeep operated by Brookelynn McLean of Forest City. Property damages were estimated at $1100. MARCH 5: Officer H. W. Carpenter said that Chassidy Bollinger, Hick- ory, operating a 2015 Chevrolet, failed to yield the right of way on NC 216 at the intersection of Morris Street and struck a 2001 Jeep operated by Linda Woodard, 331 Oak Grove Road trailer 5. Bollinger said she couldn't see oncoming traffic due to vehicles parked near the intersection. Property Eaves faces drug charges Sunshine Eaves, 159 Potato House Rd., Lawn- dale, faces charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug para- phernalia, and felony pos- session with intent to sell/ deliver cocaine after her arrest March 6 by depu- ties from the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office Community Interdiction Team. Sheriff Alan Norman said that deputies received a complaint that drugs and illegal alcohol was being used and sold in the area of Potato House Road. Dep- uties made a vehicle stop and conducted a consent search of the residence and confiscated 15 grams of crack cocaine and as- sorted drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff. The accident happened as Caldwell was leaving the parking lot of the YMCA on Cleveland Avenue. Property damages were es- timated at $3500. MARCH 6: Officer F. L. ‘Wittington said that the crossing arm of the Moun- tain Street railroad track hit the hood of a 2013 Toyota operated by Kevin Hazen, 141 Preston Trail. Property damage was minor. MARCH 6: Officer F.L. Wittington said that Zach- ary Reese, 206 N. Pied- mont Ave., operating a2001 Chevrolet pulled out from a stop sign into the path of a 1999 Isuzu operated by Richard Pressley, 511 Wilson Street. A passen- ger in the Pressley vehicle was taken to the hospital. Property damages w ere es- timated at $4,000. MARCH 10: Offi- cer Chris Tate said that a 2013 Nissan operated by Jaquayla Littlejohn, Cher- ryville, struck a 2001 Chev- rolet operated by Terry Lee Bridges, Shelby. Both driv- ers were transported to the hospital. Property damages were estimated at $5,000. MARCH 12: Officer D. K. Davis said that vehicles operated by Byrn Harris, Bessemer City, and Lisa Presnell, 204 S. Tracy St., hit on US 74 Business at Phifer Road. Property dam- ages were minor. MARCH 12: Officer K. L. Putnam said that Zach- ary Whitlock, Pelzer, SC, was traveling north on I-85 behind a semi-truck and said he drove to the right to avoid dust coming from the truck, got sideways in the road and his vehicle overturned causing $4,000 damage to his 2004 Ford. An EMS driver at the scene said he believed the semi- truck was decelerating. MARCH 12: Officer J. L. Dee said that Tony Ce- dric Brown, 123 Yarbro Road, had slowed for traf- fic that was going around another vehicle and a 2006 Saturn operated by Irma Lyle, 210 Cleveland Ave. 14-B, failed to stop and struck the Brown vehicle.
