A na- tive of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mat- tie Blanton Dixon. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, where she was a member of the La- dies Sunday School Class. She enjoyed working in her flowers, fishing, camping, and cooking. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, C.T. “Chick” Dixon Jr. and Edwin “Bill” Dixon; sis- ters, Bertie Lee Horn and Tennie McDaniel. She is survived by her loving husband of 75 years, Wesley Kiser, of the home; sons, Steven Kiser and wife Dot of Green Creek Com- munity and Keith Kiser and wife Evelyn of Waco; grandchildren, Cynthia Seabald of Locust, GA, Brian Kiser and Lea of Taylors, SC, Heidi Bridges and husband Shannon of Shelby, and Keitha Rod- den and husband Andy of Monroe; eight great-grand- children; two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, May 25, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, with officiating by Rev. Neal Efird. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Coley L. Guyton, sisters, Maude Ann Baity, Stella Baity Flowers, Nell Baity Flowers, Micky Baity Wright, and by brother, Pink Baity. She was always a mod- est individual who put oth- ers before herself. She was born in Cleveland County to the late Mack Garris and Maudie Parker Queen. She was a mem- ber of the Bessemer City Church of God. Born in Cleveland County on De- cember 8, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Mar- shall and Mary Dellinger Black of Casar A member of New Bethel Church of Shelby, she retired from Fiber In- dustries as a lab analyst and later worked at Fasco Indus- tries. The family received friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Clay Barnette Funeral Home on Thurs- day, May 21, 2015 and other times at the home of her daughter Dawn Walker and husband Bobby. Sylvia (Sybil) Hallman A Proverbs 31 lady KINGS MOUNTAIN - Sylvia “Sybil” B. Hall- man, 87, a resident of Kings Mountain, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Caromont Health, Gastonia. She was born in Cleve- land County, the youngest of seven children, daughter of the late Rodney M. and Essie Goforth Burton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Robert Earl Hallman, three brothers, Bonnie Burton, George Burton and Robert “Doc” Burton and three sisters, Elsie Mae Green, Addie Neeley and Alice Carroll. She was a retired book- keeper working at Eagle’s Dime Store and Winn- Dixie. She was active and faithful member of East Gold Street Wesleyan Church, loved to read and also a volunteer at Kings Mountain Hospital, “serv- ing as a Pink Lady” for 23 years. She recently re- ceived a pin for having served 8,140 hours. Sybil was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who had a strong faith in the Lord who prayed for her family. A Proverbs 31 Lady who will be greatly missed. Surviving are her daugh- ters, Jean Hallman Dyer and husband, Bobby of Kings Mountain; and Karan Hall- man Johnson and husband, Scott, Gastonia; grandchil- dren: Daniel Joseph Dyer, Kings Mountain and Wes- ley Alan Johnson, Gastonia; brother-in-law Kenneth D. Hallman and wife, Kay, Cherryville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
