Pearl Dixon Kiser
loving wife
and grandmother
KINGS MOUNTAIN-
Pearl Dixon Kiser, 93, died
Saturday,
May 23,
2015, at
Hospice
at Wen-
dover.
A na-
tive of
Cleveland
County,
she was the daughter of
the late Clarence and Mat-
tie Blanton Dixon. She
was a member of Second
Baptist Church, where she
was a member of the La-
dies Sunday School Class.
She enjoyed working in her
flowers, fishing, camping,
and cooking.
In addition to her par-
ents, she was preceded
in death by her brothers,
C.T. “Chick” Dixon Jr. and
Edwin “Bill” Dixon; sis-
ters, Bertie Lee Horn and
Tennie McDaniel.
She is survived by her
loving husband of 75 years,
Wesley Kiser, of the home;
sons, Steven Kiser and wife
Dot of Green Creek Com-
munity and Keith Kiser
and wife Evelyn of Waco;
grandchildren, Cynthia
Seabald of Locust, GA,
Brian Kiser and Lea of
Taylors, SC, Heidi Bridges
and husband Shannon of
Shelby, and Keitha Rod-
den and husband Andy of
Monroe; eight great-grand-
children; two great-great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were
held Monday, May 25, 2015
at 3 p.m. at Second Baptist
Church, with officiating by
Rev. Neal Efird. The family
received friends Sunday, 6 -
7:30 p.m., at Clay-Barnette
Funeral Home of Kings
Mountain.
Burial was in Mountain
Rest Cemetery.

She was a native of
Cleveland County, daugh-
ter of the late Charlie An-
derson Baity and Laura
* Gilbert Baity. In addition
to her parents, she was also
preceded in death by her
husband, Coley L. Guyton,
sisters, Maude Ann Baity,
Stella Baity Flowers, Nell
Baity Flowers, Micky Baity
Wright, and by brother, Pink
Baity.
She was always a mod-
est individual who put oth-
ers before herself.
She is survived by her
nieces Clara Ross, Linda
Bennett, Valorie Coleman,
Debbie Austin; nephews
Luther “Sonny” Wright, Jr.,
David Baity and Don Flow-
ers.
A funeral service was
held at Ollie Harris Memo-
rial Chapel, Kings Moun-
tdin, on Saturday, May 23,
2015 at 2 p.m., with the Rev.
J.R. Robbins officiating.
Visitation was from
12:30-1:30 p.m., prior to
the service at Harris Funeral
Home.
Interment is at Moun-
tain Rest Cemetery, Kings
Mountain, NC.

She was born in Cleveland

Queen. She was a mem-
ber of the Bessemer City
Church of God.
A funeral service will be
held at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
May 27, 2015 at Bessemer
City Church of God, with
Pastor Harold Ashe offici-
ating.
Visitation is from 1 to 2
p.m. Wednesday, May 27,
prior to the service at the
church and other times at
the home of the son, Shane
Hammett, 102 Colony

Interment is at the family
cemetery.

cember 8, 1939, she was the
daughter of the late Mar-
shall and Mary Dellinger
Black of Casar
A member of New
Bethel Church of Shelby,
she retired from Fiber In-
dustries as a lab analyst and
later worked at Fasco Indus-
tries. The family received
friends from 11:30 a.m.
to 1 p.m. at Clay Barnette
Funeral Home on Thurs-
day, May 21, 2015 and
other times at the home of
her daughter Dawn Walker
and husband Bobby. A
celebration of life service
immediately followed the
receiving of friends Thurs-
day at 1 pm." The Rev. Mi-
chael Brackett, nephew of
Maxine, officiated. Burial
was in Sunset Cemetery.

went to
be with
the Lord
on Friday, May 22, 2015 at
Caromont Health, Gastonia.
She was born in Cleve-
land County, the youngest
of seven children, daughter
of the late Rodney M. and
Essie Goforth Burton. In
addition to her parents, she
was also preceded in death
by her husband Robert Earl
Hallman, three brothers,
Bonnie Burton, George
Burton and Robert “Doc”
Burton and three sisters,
Elsie Mae Green, Addie
Neeley and Alice Carroll.
She was a retired book-
keeper working at Eagle’s
Dime Store and Winn-
Dixie. She was active and
faithful member of East
Gold Street Wesleyan
Church, loved to read and
also a volunteer at Kings
Mountain Hospital, “serv-
ing as a Pink Lady” for 23
years. She recently re-
ceived a pin for having
served 8,140 hours.
Sybil was a loving wife,
mother and grandmother
who had a strong faith in
the Lord who prayed for
her family. A Proverbs 31
Lady who will be greatly
missed.
Surviving are her daugh-
ters, Jean Hallman Dyer and
husband, Bobby of Kings
Mountain; and Karan Hall-
man Johnson and husband,
Scott, Gastonia; grandchil-
dren: Daniel Joseph Dyer,
Kings Mountain and Wes-
ley Alan Johnson, Gastonia;
brother-in-law Kenneth D.
Hallman and wife, Kay,
Cherryville; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was
conducted Tuesday, May
26,2015 at 2 p.m. at Ollie
Harris Memorial Chapel at
Harris Funeral Home, Kings
Mountain. Rev. Eddie Gray
and Rev. Scott Whitney of-
ficiated the service. Inter-
ment was in Mountain Rest
Cemetery.
The family received
friends Monday night, May
25, 2015 at Harris Funeral
Home.

was struck by a hit and run

fer truck, bumped on I-85
at York Road with slight
damage, according to Of-
ficer G. L. McKinney.

and white Pit Bull ran out
in front of his car on S.
Railroad Avenue. The im-
pact killed the dog. Prop-
erty damage was estimated

right of way and struck
a 2001 SAA operated by

N. Sims Street. The acci-
dent happened on NC 161.

rain storm and lost control
of her car and it hit the me-
dian barrier doing $25,000
damage to her vehicle.
MAY 20: Officer Ste-
phen Skinner said that
Darika Barnes, Gastonia,
operating a 1997 Toyota,
rear-ended a 2013 Ford
operated by Deborah Ray-
field, 304 Countryside
Road. The accident hap-
pened on US 74 Business.
Barnes was transported to
Kings Mountain Hospi-
tal for treatment. Property
damages were estimated at
$4800.

backed into a parked mo-
torcycle in the Food Lion
parking lot on Shelby
Road. The 2008 Kawasaki

age was listed at $1800 for
the bike.

Bryant said that Julie
Black, 307 W. Gold St.,
operating a 2001 Ford, lost
control of her vehicle on
Phifer Road. The car left
the road, hit a sign, a power
pole, telephone box and a
