Page 2 B OBITUARIES Edith McDaniel Reynolds Lifelong member Bethelehem Baptist KINGS MOUNTAIN - Edith McDaniel Reynolds, age 86, a resident of Kings LL Mountain, NC, went to be with her Lord on Tues- day, June 2, 2015 at her home. She was born in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late Edgar Lee McDaniel and the late Eva McCurry McDan- iel and step-mother the late Coleen Dixon McDaniel. . In addition to her par- ents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years James Edward “Jimmy” Reynolds and by three brothers, Dennis Mc- Daniel, Douglas McDaniel and Jack McDaniel and by two sisters, Janelle McDan- iel and Priscilla McDaniel. She was a lifelong mem- ber of Bethlehem Baptist church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, VBS worker, Hostess, WMU, and a mem- ber of the Dorcas Sunday school class. Mrs. Reyn- olds retired from the Kings Mountain District Schools working in the cafeteria at the Kings Mountain Middle School. She loved cooking for her family and friends and working in her flower garden. Edith also served with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bethlehem Fire Depart- ment. The family would like to give a special thanks to the caregivers at Cleveland County Hospice. She was a Proverbs 31 lady who loved reading her Bible, serving others and loved her family dearly. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughters Nancy Reyn- olds Hughes and husband Jackie, Kings Mountain, NC, Sherry Reynolds Byars and husband Bob, Kings Mountain, NC. Born in Olive Hill, KY, he was the husband of Lil- lie Katherine Ruppe Mathis Fannin and the son of the late Dewey Fannin and Sadie Masters Fannin. He was a retired minister, having served at Wellington Church of the Nazarene, Wel- lington, Ohio, Cherryville Church of the Nazarene, Gas- tonia Church of the Nazarene and was a member and former pastor of Kings Mountain Church of the Nazarene. In addition to his wife, also surviving are a son, Ken Fannin and wife, Melissa of Kings Mountain; three daughters, Meta Macintyre of Greensboro, Beverly Fox and husband, Tom of Jane Lew, WY and Barbara Thompson of Gastonia; three stepsons, Joseph Mathis and wife, Me- lissa of Gaffney, SC, David Mathis and wife, Amy, of Greenville and Michael Mathis and wife, Jennifer, of Gaffney; four sisters, Liz Morris and husband, Ron of Pompano Beach, FL, Annette Dotson of Orient, OH, Janee Davis of Wichita Falls, TX and Hildreth Hollingsworth of Mansfield, OH; six grandchil- dren, Eddie, Richey, Charity McComas and husband, Brandon, Daniel Walker and wife, Jenny, Rebecca Mac- intyre, Trey Fannin and wife, Karen, Tyler Fannin; four step-grandchildren, Katelin Mathis, Jordan Mathis, Lau- ren Mathis and Zack Rogers; and eight great-grandchil- dren. NC to the late Sam Philip Houser and Nell Armstrong Houser. He was also pre- ceded in death by brothers; Paul Houser, David Houser, and sister; Evelyn Hullen- der. He was a self-employed painter for over 40 years. Mr. Houser was a member of First Wesleyan Church where he served on several committees. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and visiting with his neighbors. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Thelma Goforth Houser, Kings Mtn, NC and son Charles Houser, Kings Min. NC.
