Page 2 OBITUARIES Ellen Patterson retired truck driver KINGS MOUNTAIN - Kathy Ellen Seitz Patter- rt - 70, of Stoney Ridge Dr., died 1, : She was born in Sandusky, Ohio on April 14, 1945 to the late Frank L. and Evelyn Ruth Sutter Seitz. Kathy was a member of Second Baptist Church and was a retired long line truck driver, along with her husband, from D & B Transport. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and the beach. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Seitz; and sister, Cheryl Geddys. Survivors include her husband, Odell Patterson; sons, William Patterson, and wife, Phyllis of Kings Mountain, and Robert Risica and fiancé, Olivia Armstrong of Kings Moun- tain; daughters, Donna Reynolds of Lincolnton, Rita Owens of Cherryville, Nancy Pack and husband, Richard of Grover, and Sybil Walker of Cher- ryville; seventeen grand- children; and thirty-four great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 8 p.m. at Cherryville’s Second Bap- tist Church with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will be private. She was a homemaker, formerly attended Faith Baptist Church in Kings Mountain and an avid ani- mal lover. Margie loved to cook, bake and care for her family. She is survived by her great nephew and niece, special caregivers; Tim Setzer and wife Jodie, Gastonia; nieces Virginia Nobles, Black Mtn., Linda Setzer, Kings Mountain, Pat Greason, Kings Moun- tain, Vickie Lynn Webb, New London, NC, spe- cial great-great nephews; Timothy and Seth Setzer, Gastonia; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. JULY 11: A resident of Kings Row Drive reported that the front fender and d river's side mirror on his car was damaged by a hit and run driver. WRECKS JUNE 2: Officer Kyle Bell said that a three vehi- cle crash happened at the Dixon School Road exit on 1-85 and involved ve- hicles operated by Wilmer Ariel Gomez Lopez of Charlotte, Toney Lynn Carden of Anniston, AL, and George Michael Rich- ardson of Salem, AL. The accident happened when Lopez ran off the road, hit a guardrail and overturned in the middle of the road- way. Carden attempted to stop and his vehicle left the road and struck the transfer truck operated by Richard- son. Lopez was cited for no operator’s license. Property damage was estimated at $9,500. JUNE 26: Officer F. L. Wittington said that James Edward Brown, 400 W. Parker St., was operating a Moped on King Street, topped the hill at Kentucky Fried Chicken and saw a driver in a van turning left on Deal Street. Brown told the officer he hit his brakes and “layed it down” and he slid up to the van but did not hit it. Wittington said that only slight damage was done to the Moped. JULY 3: Officer M. D. Butler said that Bryant Widener, Winder. Ga.,op- erating a 2206 Chrysler, said that he was stopped on I-85 because of a wreck and his car was rear-ended by the driver of a gold Ca- dillac who fled the scene. Only slight damage was re- ported to the Chrysler. JULY 3: Officer Jona- than Price charged Karen Lewis Philbeck, Shelby, with leaving the scene of an accident involving her 2002 Pontiac and a 1999 Ford operated by Brittany Burch, Shelby. Burch was traveling East on High- way 74 when Philbeck attempted to merge in the same lane and hit the Ford which left the roadway into the median striking the divider. Property dam- age included $2,000 to the divider and $100 to the Philbeck car. Philbeck was stopped by the NC High- way Patrol in Gastonia. JULY 7; Officer F. 1.. Wittington said Louise Gantt Whitaker, 204 Gan- ley St., operating a 2003 Toyota, was driving in the parking lot of Roses' and the sunlight blinded her and she hit a pole. Property damage was estimated at $5,000. JULY 7: Officer Mar- quis Shon Macopson said that Noel Ross Roberts, 504 W. Gold St., operating a 1999 Chevy, and Charles Edward Wilson Jr., 505 West Gold St., operating a 2009 Nissan, were backing in the roadway at the same time. Property damage to the Wilson vehicle was es- timated at $1,000. JULY 8: Officer H. W. Carpenter said that Kenaz Byers, Shelby, was back- - , ing from a parking lot at 1909 Shelby Road and hit a 2008 Nissan operated by Devin Absher, Blacksburg, SC. Property damage was slight. JULY i 3: Officer H.W.Carpenter said that Stephanie Houser, Casar, operating a 2004 Honda, reported that her vehicle ‘hydroplaned on the US 74 Bypass. She lost control of the car, left the road and hit a tree. Property damage was estimated at $1500. JULY 9: Officer H.W. Carpenter cited Melissa Hubbard with driving while license revoked and failure to reduce speed after a wreck on the US 74 Bypass. Teresa Wray Jenkins, Clover, SC, op- erating a 2005 Hyundai, had stopped due to traffic at the Gaston Street inter- section and her car was hit by the Hubbard 2006 Suzi. Property damages were es- timated at $7500, JULY 9: Officer Jon- athan Price said that Mat- thew Brown, Grover, operating a 2001 Toyota, failed to stop for a traf- fic signal and hit a 2005 Chrysler operated by Jac- queline Buchanan, 303 W. Mountain St., Apt. 5. Property damages were estimated at $2500. The accident happened at the intersection of Gaston and King streets. JULY 9: Officer Bryan McGinnis said that Emily Mayes, 112 Tiara Drive, operating a 2005 Buick, turned from the parking lot at 1033 Shelby Road and struck a 2004 Chevrolet operated by Angela Wil- son, 106 Yarbro Road, Lot 4.
