She was born in Gaston Co. NC to the late Clyde and Alpha Mayes Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Lynn Sides; grandson, Michael Sides; brother, Jessie Reyn- olds; and great grandchild, Aiden Stamper. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Grover, NC and a former teacher’s aide for Head Start. She loved to fish, read romance and Ste- phen King books. She was a loving mother and grand- mother who will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son Robert “Robbie” Sides and partner Ryan Causby, Grover, NC; daughter Mitzy Sides and fiancé Jeffrey Houser, Kings Mtn. Charles B. Bowles KINGS MOUNTAIN - Charles B. Bowles, age 76, a resident of Kings Mountain, went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2015, at his home. He was born in Layland, West Virginia, son of the late Alva and Osie Ford Bowles. Charles was a loving hus- band, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved the Lord and reading his bible. Frankie Bradley SHELBY - Frankie Brad- ley, 84, of 850 Old Boiling Springs Road, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, at her residence. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Walter T. Savage Sr. and Lula Har- ris Savage. Interment is at Cleveland Memorial Park. Gertrude Davis SHELBY - Gertrude “Granny” Weaver Davis, 78, died Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Carrie McGinnis Weaver. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, and a foster grandparent at Number 3 School. Funeral services were held 3 p.m., Tuesday, at Bethany Baptist Church. The family received friends Monday from 6-7:30 p.m., at Clay-Barnette Fu- neral Home. Burial was at Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Wallace Hester SHELBY - James “Wal- lace” Hester, 86, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late James Harry and Lena Fraser Hes- ter. Wallace served in the Army, was a member of Westview Baptist Church, and retired from JP Stevens with 41 years of service. He had a love for the outdoors, especially working in his garden. Funeral services were held Friday, 3 p.m., at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel. The family received friends Friday from 1:30-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial is at Sunset Cemetery. The time is 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. each day. KMHS coaches will be the directors and instructors. The fee is $15 per day or $40 for the week. You do not have to be a member of any athletic team to participate. JULY 18: A resident of First Street reported theft of two wooden benches with white tops. JULY 19: Canine Kisses Dog Groomins, 108-A York Rd., reported damage to an air conditioner. WRECKS JULY 10: Officer Kyle Bell said that Kimberly Phil- lips, 123 Trotter Lane, was operating a 2013 Nissan, ran off the road on I-85 North and hit a guard rail. Esti- mated damage was $5,000. JULY 10: Officer Mar- quis Shon Macopson said that Nguyen Ngoc Khanh-ly, Lincolnton, operating a 2013 Toyota, struck a parked 2008 Ford in the parking lot at Ingles doing approximately $700 in damage. JULY 11: Officer: J. L. Dee said that Perry Russell, 39, of 209 Margaret St., was riding a bicycle on S. Tracy St. and he saw an approach- ing car and jumped from his bike which was struck by a US Postal Service vehicle at the intersection of S. Tracy Street and West Mountain Street and operated by Mary Ann Figueroa of Shelby who said she did not see the cy- clist who was traveling east on West Mountain Street. Dee said that Russell did not have a helmet or protective clothing o n and was not in- jured. JULY 11: Officer Mar- quis Shon Macopson said that Donald Eugene Charles of Gastonia, operating a 2005 Chevrolet, backed into a 2000 Ford operated by Jeffery Dallas Smith, 1430 Lewis Farm Road, a t Tom's Supermarket parking lot. Property damage was minor. JULY: 11: Officer F. L. Wittington said that a pile-up of three vehicles on I-85 South was the result of pos- sibly road rage, according to witnesses, who said that a driver in a white Dodge pick-up was slowing, speed- ing up and then slamming on his brakes which caused a chain reaction and he left the scene. A car operated by George Elijah Rice, Clinton, SC, hit the guardrail and struck the side driver's mir- ror of a vehicle operated by Cecile Glass of Kannapolis and a 2013 Toyota operated by Fausto Flete of Killeen, Texas. All the occupants of the Flete car were taken to the hospital. The accident happened on I-85 South be- tween exits 5 and 9. Property damages were estimated at $14,750. JULY 12: Officer F. L. Wittington said that Daviy- ona Connor, Gastonia, was driving her 1996 Mazda on King Street and another driver slammed on the brakes causing her to hit it in the rear. The other driver left the scene. Damage to the Connor vehicle was slight. JULY 12: Officer Josh Bryant said that William Maggard, Charlotte, was backing from a parking lot on King Street and struck a 2011 Hyundai operated by Jessie Jones of Cherryville. Property damages were esti- mated at $2,000. JULY 12: Officer Mar- quis Shon Macopson charged James Noel Arnold, New- born, Ga., with hit and run after an accident involving his vehicle and a tow truck in the parking lot of Linwood Shell Station. Slight damage was reported to the tow truck owned by Fowler & Sons Towing Recovery, Cowpens, SC. JULY 13: Officer H.W. Carpenter said that a 2000 BMW operated by Timothy Cason, Hendersonville, and Stanley Brucker, 308 W. Mountain St., collided at the traffic light at Bridges Hard- ware. Property damage was estimated at $1500. JULY 14: Officer H. W. Carpenter cited Connie Wa- ters Taylor, Bessemer City, with driving while license revoked after an accident at Cambridge Court Circle. Tanya Pearson Ramey of Shelby was backing her 2002 Ford and hit the Taylor vehi- cle. Property damage was es- timated at $3500. JULY 14: Officer H. W. Carpenter said that Gerald Williams, 206 Mary's Grove Road, was traveling on the east-bound ramp of US Highway 74 from Oak Grove Road attempting to merge onto Highway 74 when he lost control of the vehicle and + struck a 1999 Toyota oper- ated by Rita Gann, 1216 Oak Grove Road and a guardrail facing two times. Property damage was estimated’ at $7500. : JULY, #15: Officer \J.<L. Dee said that Latricia Melton, 508 N. Watterson St., operat- ing a 2012 Chevrolet, struck a 2010 Toyota operated by Dennis Dean Putnam, 121 Camelot Court. The accident happened on US 74 Busi- ness. Property damage was estimated at $2500. JULY 16:Officer J. L. Dee charged Betty Messick Horne, Grover, with careless and reckless driving after she crossed the center line on NC 216 an hit a mailbox at 912 South Battleground Avenue. Property damage was esti- mated at $1500. JULY 16: Officer D. K. Davis said that vehicles op- erated by Johnathan Dakota Bell, 352 Patterson Road, and George Anthony Ruppe, 109 Wright Road, hit on East Gold Street. Property dam- age was estimated at $1500. Motorcyclist killed in wreck Monday A Kings Mountain mo- torcyclist was killed Monday on Oak Grove Road after the motorcycle he was driving crossed the center line and sideswiped a pickup truck that was pulling a trailer . Richard Lynn Cromer, 51, formerly of Gastonia, died at the scene of the wreck around 7:30 p m.,. the N.C. Highway Patrol reported. Trooper B. M. McDaniel said the driver of the truck, Alvin Cannon went off the right side of the roadway after he saw the motorcycle go left of center. Cannon was not injured. A passenger in his 2007 Chevrolet, Michael Strong, also of Shelby, was treated at Carolinas Health- Care Systems Cleveland with minor injuries.
