Donna Logan, Raeford White, Jr. and Tim White- sides, pastor of KMBC, left Kings Mountain on July 30 for Kafue Zambia in Africa. Months ago, Pastor Tim Whitesides had introduced the church to the Carpen- ter family who have a non- profit mission in Africa. Tim was led to go and asked if anyone else was interested. Over the next few months, Donna and Raeford also felt the Lord’s will for them to join Tim. Several fundrais- ers were held and donations were made, and in just a short time, more than enough funds were raised to fund the entire trip. This included not only plane fare and lodg- ing but also many items to be used to reach people for Christ. The Sunday before the group departed, the congre- gation of KMBC was given the opportunity to hear why each person felt called to this mission trip. At the end of the service, the church formed a circle around the group and held hands, pray- ing for a save journey and a successful outcome. The group will be back in the United States on August 12. that the picture had to be taken on the steps of Kings Mountain Baptist Church.
