Sheriff’s office reaches out to churches for emergency prep The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office takes emer- gency preparedness very se- riously. Every day we work to protect our county and its citizens, but we can’t do it alone. That’s why we’re ask- ing our faith based commu- nity to help us educate and engage those around them in the community and in their houses of worship. The Sheriff’s Office has developed a plan to assist churches in preparing for an emergency should one arise in the church. It is our hope that this plan would give church members a basic knowledge of what to do in the event of an emergency and how to protect lives in the case that a situation arises within the church. Sheriff Alan Norman says, “We are living in a dan- gerous time in our history. Unfortunately, we are at the point where people are tak- ing violence into the House of God. Together, through awareness, education, and action, we can minimize vulnerabilities and ensure the protection of our houses of worship and its congre- gants.” If any church is inter- ested in having a presenta- tion given to their church or the leadership of the church, please contact Captain Joel Shores at 704-476-3053 or joel.shores@cleveland- county.com JNO LRG TTH CGT RSE » SAN os Ary, Dellinger Two Weeks Only!
