She was born in Davie County, and was the daugh- ‘ter of the late Clyde Ray Parks and Lillian Prevette Parks. She was a house wife and enjoyed word search puzzles, cooking, gardening, canning and sewing. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She attended David Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, Sep- tember 8, at 4 p.m. Gaston Memorial Park, with offi- ciating by Rev. Jody Grif- fin and Rev. Brian Taule. Visitation immediately followed the service at the graveside. Interment is at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia, NC . Harris Fu- neral Home and Crema- tion Services is in charge of arrangements. "Thurman Kinsey SHELBY - Thurman ‘Henry Kinsey, 64, died Sun- day, Sept. 6, 2015, at Caro- linas Healthcare-Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Henry and Bertie Moore Kinsey. Thurman was an Army Vietnam Vet- eran. Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Clay-Barnette . Funeral Home. The family will re- ceive friends one hour, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Dennis Dean Goins loving husband, father, grandfather * KINGS MOUNTAIN — Den- nis Dean Goins, 62, "| resident of Kings Mountain, went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2015. He was born in Cleveland County to the late Jack Goins. He was also preceded in death by his two sons, Steve and Jamie Johnston, and two brothers, Gene Goins and William Tesner. A good man, loving hus- band and father and grand- father, he will be greatly missed by many. He loved to shoot pool at Friendly Bil- liards where he was co-owner until he could no longer play due to his courageous battle with throat cancer. He was a mentor to several young boys and proudly served in the United States Army. Surviving are his wife, Robbin Camp Goins of the home; son, Keith Goins, Co- lumbus, GA; daughter, Erica Johnson of Kings Mountain; brothers, Clifford Tesner and wife, Brenda,and Mark Tesner and wife, Donna, all of Shelby; Ron Goins, Caman Island, WA; sister, Lynda Goins, Everett, Washington; grandchildren, Steven John- ston Jr., Shelby and Ashton Jones, Las Vegas, Nevada. Hawkins KINGS MOUNTAIN- Theo Huffstetler Hawkins, 79, went to be with the Lord Sept. 5, 2015 at White Oak Manor. A retired nursing admin- istrator for the University of South Alabama Medical Center, she was an avid golfer and loved to sing in her church choir. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter and one of 12 children of the late The- odore and Mylie Huffstetler of the Bethlehem Commu- nity of Kings Mountain. Jack Joe Reynolds DENVER - Jack Joe Reynolds, age 90, 7950 Mar- iners Point, Denver, NC, passed away at his home on September 2, 2015. Born in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Clarence and Lillie Mode Reynolds. He was retired from the North Carolina Highway Patrol with 30 years of service and also served in the United States Navy serving in the Pacific, He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Carolyn Dover Reynolds, son, Tony Trent Reynolds and brothers Jake Reynolds, Dan Reynolds and sister Nell Heady. He was of the Lutheran faith. A graveside service was held 3 p.m. Sunday, Sep- tember 6, at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, with Rev.
