On Plonk’s team are Ce cils Reynolds, Glenda Belk, Karen Moss, Charity Tlgnor, and Bobble McKee, Cleveland Radiator Ladles won 4-0 over the American Legion with a total of 1359- 1332. Kathy Butler, Jo Pyer, Pat Barrett, Pat Panther, and Be cky Barnett made up the Cl eveland Radiator team. Drews Tax Sendee held a 2-2 record with Scoggln Gulf, with the Scoggln girls winn ing 1460-1410. Margaret Harmon, Evelyn Early, Doris Ware, Betty Wells, and Pat Herndon com prised the winning team. G-W Expands Coverage Gardner - Webb College Is expanding Its radio coverage of football games for the 1971 season with five of the games aired on WAGY-FM and all ten games on WALA-AM, ac cording to G - W Athletic Director Eddie Holbrook. Saturday’s game with New berry starting at 7:30 will be aired on both stations. WADA Is located at 1390 on AM and WAGY Is located at 103.5 FM. Other games to be aired on the WAGY - FM are Carson - Newman, Oct. 23; Mars Hill, Oct. 30; George town, Nov. 13; and Maryville, Nov. 20. The Mars Hill and Maryville games will be away games. Educated in the Salisbury public schools, he is a grad uate of Catawta College. Mr. Graham has been active in church, civic, and youth or- ganizatlons. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Graham, Sr, of Salisbury and has three sons. Dr. John R. Pierce, whose contributions to Beli System technology include the first pro.nusal for a communicat ions satellite system, retired from Bell Labs September 1. Dr. Pierce left his post as executive director, research Communications Sciences Di vision to become professor of engineering at the California Institute of Technology. During 35 years at the Labs, he was granted 98 patents for inventions, and seven colleges and universities have awarded him honorary doct orate degrees. Dr. Pierce also has served on the Pre sident’s Science Advisory Co mmittee. Vandals Enter Junior High 'S32 ■' ftl li JOHN GRIER PLAYER OF THE WEEK Vandals entered Central Junior High School Friday night around 11:20 p.m., destroying two chairs and pouting out 25-30 cartons of milk. The point of entry was a window on the north side of the building which was pushed open, Lt. Barrett of the Police Department arrived to discover the damages which amounted to less than $50.
