He was th e Operations Manager of Foote Chemical Co. in Kings Mountain. He has been in Kings Mountain since 1951. He came as Mill Superintendent of Foote. Sur viving is wife, Eleanor Canon Goter. He was a member of the ResurecUon Lutheran Church, He was also a member of the Rotary Club and a member of the Advisory Committee of N. C. State Minerals Research Labratory. The announce ment went on to say such an engine for everyday high way use was a long way off. Neal Mrs. Dovle Bowen Neal, age 81, of Rt. 1, Shelby, passed away at her sons home, Tues day afternoon. She was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Jacob Bowen. She was the widow of M.C. Neal. Area School Meet Today Principals, supervisors and teachers from this area will be attending a meeting in Shelby on Sept. 29, to discuss a new study guide, "Language Arts in the Elementary Scho ols.’’ According to Mrs. Tora Ladu, Director, Division of Languages, State Department of Public Instruction, the guide was developed at tbe Model Development Reading School in Greensboro. The guide was an Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Tit le in project. Mrs. Ladu said the work shop Is designed to help tea chers use tbe study guide more effectively. Discussion will center on three areas; diagnosing the needs of the students, organ izing the language arts class, and techniques and materials for tbe teacher.
