WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22, 1972 OBITUARIES Gantt Hamrick KINGS MOUNTAIN - Funeral services for Mrs. Zella Den nis Gantt were conducted last Friday at Central United Me thodist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Pas chal Waugh, the Rev. Howard Jordan and the Rev. J.B. Mc- Larty, Interment was In the Gantt Mausoleum in .Mountain Rest Cemetery. Mrs. Gantt, of 706 .N. Pied mont Ave., died last Wednes day in Kings Mountain Hos pital. She was the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. A.B. Den nis and widow of William McKinley Gantt. She is .survived by one dau ghter, Mrs. .Nan JeanGrantt, of Grover, three sisters, .Mrs. Herman Stevens of Leicester and .Mrs. Harold .Mills and Mrs. Phllmore Freeman, both of Asheville; four brothers, Wesley Dennis of Savannah, Ga., Howard Dennis of Athens, Tenn., the Rev. Carl Dennis of CherryGroveBeach S.C. and Clyde Dennis of Mi ami, Fla.; and twrj grandchil dren. Harris Funeral Home of Kings .Mountain was in charge of the arrangements. BESSEMER CITY - J<Rm Thomas Hamrick, 58, of Sky- land Drive died suddenly in his home 3aturdayat3;30p.m. He was the son of the late P. G. Hamrick and Essie Pruitt Hamrick. He Is survived by Pauline Wesson Hamrick, his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Paul Ulmer of Cleveland, Ohio, Polly Hamrick of Wln^onSa- lem, and Priscilla K, Ham rick of Limestone College, Gaffney; one sister, .Mrs. J. H. Hamrick of Raleigh; six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 4p.m. .MondayatFirstBap- tist Church, of which hewasa member. Rev. A. A. Bailey officiated at the sendees and burial followed in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Hamrick was the head of Hamrick Electrical Contrac tors until his retirement last July. He served twotermson City Council, was a third de gree mason, a former mem ber of the Lions Club, and a member of theAmateurRadl- 0 Club. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, where funer al services were conducted Friday by the Rev. Frank Shirley. Burial was in the Mountain Rest Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home was In charge of the arrange ments. KINGS MOUNTAIN — James E. Mitchem. 63, of Rt. 2, Kings .Mountain, died last Tuesday at his home. He was a native of Kings .Mountain. His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Mitchem and he was a member of Mac edonia Baptist Church. He is survived byhiswidow, Nena Eskew Mitchem; one daughter, .Mrs. Gus Hortsoe, Jr., of Kings Mountain; one son, James Houston of Kings Mtn.; one sister, .Mrs. B, P. Jackson of Kings Mountain; two brothers, Charles Mit chem and Howard Mitchem both of Kings Mountain; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Harris Fun eral Home Chapel by the Rev. L.D. Scruggs. Burial was in the .Momitain Rest Cemetery. Carroll KINGS MOUNTAIN - Larry Carroll, 6, died Friday. Hunter Dobbins KINGS MOUNTAIN--Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Hunter were conducted F riday at Bynum Chapel A..M,E. Zion Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. W.F. Scott. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hunter, 84, of West Parker St., King Mountain, died last Monday morning. J.W. Gill and Son’s Funeral Home was In charge of the arrangoments. KINGS MOUNTAIN - Pat ricia Diane Dobbins, 11- month old daughter of Diane Dobbins of 110 Lackey St., died at 4 p.rn. Friday in a Kings Mountain clinic. Survivors other than her mother Is a grandfather, Roy Dobbins of Kings Mountain. F uneral services were con ducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church by the Rev. Frank Shirley.
