Gilman m, assistant vice president for academic affairs. Dr. Gilman said that theyare among 1219 university stu dents on the dean’s list for the winter quarter of the current academic year. Students on the dean’s list must earn a quality point ra tio of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 for a regular quarter’s work of not less than twelve quarter hours. Students from Kings Mount ain are; Walter L. Barbara Logan Named To Who*s Who In Jr. Colleges .Named in this year’s nation al listing of America’s most outstanding Junior College students is Barbara Lou Lo gan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Allison Logan, Jr., of Kings Mountain, N. C, Her name is included in the 1971-1972 edition of "Who’s Who AmongStudents in Amer ican Junior Colleges’’, a list ing of the campus leaders from more than 600 of the na tion’s institutions of higher learning. The annual directory of dis tinguished students has been published since 1966 and car ries only the names of stu dents whose academic stand ing, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and future potential are decidedly above average. Barbara Lou Logan is cur rently a full-time student ma joring in Liberal ArtsatGas- ton College. Gaston Gets $500 Grant Mr. Ralph Robinson, Jr., member of the Gastonia Rota ry Club Board of Directors, announced today that the club has voted to make an annual $500 scholarship grant to Gaston College. Robinson stated that the grant would aid those Gaston Col lege students with exceptional financial need or low family income to secure financial as sistance. Withmatchingwork study federal funds plus the $500 scholarship grant, the college could provide four students with tuition and books for a full academic year.
