PAGE 6, KINGS MOUNTAIN MIRROR. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19, 1972 OBITUARIES Phillips KINGS MOUNTAIN — Carl G. Phillips, 48, of New Orleans La., died at a New Orleans Hospital on Thursday. Survivors Include his step- mouer , Mrs. Arrle Short Phil lips of Kings Mountain; three half-brothers, Alfred Phillips, Coy Phillips and Roy Phillips, all of Kings Mountain; two- Sip es KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Mamie Sue Davis Sipes, 67, of Rt. 2, Kings Mountain, died Saturday at 6 p.m. in Kings Mountain Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Roe and Mattie Freeman Davis. She Is survived by her hus band, Forest C, Sipes; three daughters, Mrs. Gene Hughes, Mrs. Lee Bumgardner and Mrs. David Styles, all of Kings Mountain; six sons, David Sipes, Don Sipes and Cecil Sipes, all of Ki^s Mountain, Robert Sipes of Grover, John ny Sipes of Clover, S. C., and Charles Sipes of Wallln^ord, Conn.; five sisters, Mrs. Li ly Ford, Mrs. Carrie Grlgg and Mrs. Maggie Hullender, all of Kings Mountain, Mrs. Della Foster of Llncolnton and Mrs. Mary Phipps of Cha rlotte; 2a grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were con ducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Nazarene Church by the Rev. C. A. Bost and the Rev. W. Flay Payne. Burial follow ed in St. Luke’s Cemetery. Pan American Banquet At Royal Villa Gastonia’s eighth annual Pan American Day Banquet will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 25th at the Royal VUlaRestau- rant in Kings Mountain. The menu will consist of an expeclally prepared buffet of dishes from all over the Ame ricas. Tickets are available to the public, and advance re servations are necessary. Advance sales are being hand led by John Lett, Jr., of Ash- brook High School. Cost Is $3 per plate. The Spanish Club of Ashbrook High is again coor dinating the city’s observance of Pan American Day and Pan American week, April 9-15th.
