There will eventually be about 16 or 17 girls playing role s In the film and about half of them will have speaking parts. The leading lady will be played by Barbara Willis. As Barbara was not required for any of Monday’s takes ahe was not in Kings Mountain, but the second leading ladles role, that of the proprietress of the local house of ill-repute. Is being played by Darlene Park er and she was in town for her first experience of making a movie. Also a grad uate of Libby Stone’s Model ling School In Charlotte, Dar lene has done live mcdelllng in fashion shows but this Is her first venture before the cam era. A tall blond, with blue eyes, Darlene is five feet, seven Inches in height with vital statistics ol36’’23’’37'’. Darlene did not seem at all perturbed by the type of role she was due to play. In the film she will have a number of employees working for her and one of them, Gail, will be played by Linda Faile of Char lotte. Linda professes to be distant kin to Tommy Faile of local T.V. fame. Linda Is a petite brunette standing just five feet, two Inches high with measurements of 35’’24’’35’’. Born in Rock Hill, S.C,, ed ucated in Miami, Florida, Linda now lives In Charlotte where she also does some oc casional modelling. As Linda has had very little stage ex- Wonderlui Boss—To pretty, young applicant-So you want a job? Had any experience? Appllcant-Oh, some very wonderful ones! perlence she plans to enroll for drama at Central Pied mont in the Fall. Linda re cently appeared In two tele vision commercials made by Channel 36 for a Charlotte mobile home dealer and a Charlotte restaurant. This Is Linda’s third film venture. Last year she appeared in "The Body Shop” a Charlotte made film which was also pro duced by Mr. Patterson. Her role was that of the corpse, so she did not get to speak or move during the film making. Linda also has a speaking part in "Night of the Cat"-another Charlotte based movie which Is presently just half made be cause ofthe financial difficult ies. However, Linda hopes to resume her role In that movie whenever production starts up again. Bettlna Drake, also from Charlotte, was working very hard during the first takes •in the "Police Department” Compensation Doctor—Jone.s, your wife doesn’t look right to me. Sammy and Sally Did you ever water-ski in the Bahamas?,,,..Sammy and Sally did with their Home Savings and Loan Association account. Home Savings & Loan Assn. 106 E. Mountain St. 739-2531 located behind the Mountain eer Pharmacy. A graduate of North Mecklenburg High Sch ool, Bettlna does modelling and temporary secretarial work. This Is Bettlna’s first dramatic role either on stage or Him and she smoked ner vously between takes after rushing to reach Kings Mount ain from Charlotte and then being unable to find the shoot ing location. Bettlna is an other blue-eyed blond at five feet, three inches. Her vital statistics are 35’’24”36”. Bettlna is playing the part of Rita, she is Jim’s girlfriend. Jim, played by Jim Arp is a local disc jockey both in the film and In real life too. Providing their own ward robe and applying their own make-up, these three ladies were a far cry from the Holly wood image of movie stars. The only place for them to relax was on the sidewalk un der the shade of a tree on S. Watterson Street. As the ham burger stands and eating places were across town, it appeared that cast and crew would have to survive on colas and snacks. It’s not easy being a star, in fact it really is hard work.
