Page2A KINGS MOUNTAIN MIRROR Thursday, February 28,1974 Students |Beals79 Years Young| Two Bridal Couples Feted By The McGills Forming FCA Unit Students at Kings Mountain High are organizing a Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at the school. Faculty advisor for the group will be Steve Baker. Itie dues of $3 per year will be used to obtain films and materials for programs, according to Darrell Van Dyke, chief organizer of the group. The group hopes to have special guests speakers for their night meetings. Athletes and cheerleaders interested in joining the group should pay their dues as quickly as possible to Baker. Mrs. Beatrice Patterson, of Rt. 4, King) Mountain, was honored on her 7dth birthday. Sun., Feb. 17 with a special dinner at her home The dinner was prepared by Mrs. Lottie Bell Falls and consisted of baked chicken, ham, baby peas, rice and gravy, hot rolls, jel-salad, coffee and fruit punch. Following the dinner, cake was served buffet style.to the many friends, relatives and children present Mrs. Patterson’s daughters, Mrs. S.P. Campbell and Mrs. Virginia Byers of Kings Mountain and Mrs. Catherine Davis of Spartanburg served as hostesses for the occasion. Mrs. Patterson expressed her gratefulness for the many gifts she received and for the fellowship of her friends that called her to renew her thoughts of her once active Mrs, Klepper Joins Hamrick Real Estate Mrs. George Klepper of Kings Mountain is now associated in real estate sales with Larry D. Hamrick, Realtor of Kings Mountain. North Carolina Real Estate Brokers license was issued last September to Mrs. Klepper ^ter she successfully passed the Real Estate Brokers examinatioa Mrs. Klepper successfully com pleted the Real Estate Course at Cleveland Tech in the Spring of 1973 and also completed Real Estate Residential Appraising at Cleveland Tech in December 1973. In announcing her association with his office. Larry Hamrick, Realtor, said “We are very pleased to add Mrs. Klepper to our real estate sales staff and she is well qualified for sales service and appraisal work.” Mrs. Klepper will set up her office with Hamrick who is an associate at the Warlick In surance Agency at 110 W. Mountain St., in Kings Mountain. Mrs. Klepper resides with her husband, George, at 164 N. Oakwood Dr. in the Wood- bridge Subdivision. She is active at Central United Methodist Church of Kings Mountain and is well known in the community for her work with pre-school kindergarten children. and eager participation in mission, church and com munity services. She is a member of the Mt Olive Baptist Church, a for mer president of the Ebenezer Women's Mission and a member of the Heroines of Jericho. Mrs. Patterson is the wife of Jasper Patterson, Sr. and they are the parents of seven boys and five girls. Groom's Parents Are Hosts Mr. and Mrs. John Reynolds Sr. hosted a prerehearsal dinner at Wrenn’s Cafeteria in Grover for the wedding party of Cathy Marlene Cash and John Reynolds Jr. There were 30 persons present at the 7 p.m. dinner. The head table held a cen terpiece of pink snaps, daisies and white mums accented with baby’s breath. On either side of the table were three- branch candelabra with pink tapers. All tables were covered with white linen cloths. The bridal couple presented gifts to ushers and attendants following the dinner. ^Swiss Famity’’ To Play March 7 In Gastonia The National Theatre Co. will present “Swiss Family Robinson” by Johann Wyss, Thurs., March 7 at Ashbrook auditorium in Gastonia. The program will be sponsored by the Gardner Park School PTA. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. and all seats will be ^.25. On Fri., Feb. 15 The McGills played host to Miss Barbara Hord and Corky Fulton, who will be married March 16. Miss Ava Ware served as co hostess for the three-course dinner party. The table was decorated with hand-painted china and with a centerpiece of pink carnations. A corsage of pink carnations was presented the bride-to-be and a devotion book to the bridegroom-to-be. The couple was also presented wedding gifts before leaving the party. Other guests at the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. W.S. ‘ Fulton and Dr. and Mrs. D.F. Hord. On Fri., Feb. 22 The McGills entertained Miss Grace Moore and Doyte Phifer at a two- course dinner party. Miss Ware again served as co hostess. Grace and Doyte plan an April wedding. The table decorations were of Camillas and the brideto-be was presented a corsage of Camillas. The groom-to-be was given a devotion book. This couple also received wedding gifts from their hosts. Other guests included Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Marriott Phifer and Dr. and Mrs. Charles E. Edwards. VISITORS Mrs. Ray S. Williamson of Jackson, Tenn., was the guest in the home of Mr. i Mrs. Humes Houston the week of Feb. 25. Mrs. Williamson is tlie aunt of Mrs. Houston.
