The four young men, Phil Parrish, Kevin Kilbreth, Rick Ray and Chip Holden, have mured most of the United States with their special music programs. Saturday’s program at Grace begins at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday the singers will present special music at the 11 a.m. morning worship ser vice. Bruce Scott, former pastor, will speak. The Sons of Light wiU also sing at the 7 p.m. service. The public is cordially in vited. Area Deaths and Funerals The Oak Grove Baptist Church of Kings Mountain will host the Christian Student Movement Choir of Mars Hill College this weekend for a musical program. On Sat., Apr. 27 , 7:30 p.m. the choir will present “Joy,” a folk musical about home missions. On Sun., Apr. 28 the BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT Dr. and Mrs. Peter Houser announce the birth of a son, Jeffrey Peter, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital, Spar tanburg, S.C., April 20. Jeffrey weighed eight pounds, three ounces at birth. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs. Charles E. Goforth and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Houser. Great grandmother is Mrs. Ritter Goode, all of Kings Mountain. choir will give a 20-minute sacred concert during the 11 a.m. worship service. The CSMC is sponsored by Mars Hill College. The choir is dedicated to spreading the word of God whenever people are congregated. The choir will eat supper on Saturday (6 p.m.) and lunch on Sunday as a choir group in the church fellowship hall. On Saturday night after the performance the choir members will be disbursed into the homes of church members for over night accommodations. MRS. G.E. SMITH CHERRYVILLE - Funeral services for Mrs. G.E. Smith were held Friday at 3 p.m. at Penley’s Chapel Church, kings Mountain, by the Rev. l^nard Huffstetler and the Rev. Sam Snyder and burial was in Friendship Baptist Church cemetery, Cramerton. Mrs. Smith, of Rt. 2, Cherryville, died Thurs., Apr. 18 in Kings Mountain Hospital following an extended illness. She was 49. Survivors are her husband, G.E. Smith; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bently Lewallen of Toccoa, Ga.; five son' Charles G., Harve J. and Jerry B. Smith of Kings Mountain, David H. and Barney R. Smith of Bessemer City; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Thrift of Detroit, Mich, and Mrs. Joyce M. Scates of Bessemer City; one brother, Ralph Lewallen of Baldwin, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. Bobbie Jean Waddell of Kings Mountain; and 12 grand children. Carpenter’s Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements. CAMPBELL McCARTER CHARLOTTE - Funeral services for Campbell Mc Carter were held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Richard Plyler and burial was in Bethany ARP Church cemetery. McCarter, of Rt. 4, Charlotte, formerly of Kings Mountain, died Friday morning at his home. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Frances Guin McCarter. He was 67. Survivors are his mother. Mrs. Minnie Watkins of Gastonia; two sons, Henry McCarter of West Cramerton and Glen McCarter of Charlotte; two daughters, Mrs. J.D. Barnette of Kings Mountain and Mrs. Sarah Bell of Belmont; three brothers, Oscar and Kelly McCarter of Kings Mountain and Will McCarter of Burlington; five sisters, Mrs. Bell Sanders, Mrs. Cleo Herman, Mrs. Esphia Short and Mrs. Cathleen Robeson of Gastonia and Mrs. Reola High of Florida, Ind.; 11 grand children; and 13 great grandchildren.
