Page 4B—MIRROR-HERALD—Tliursday, April 10, 1975 Mrs. Gamble Elected Mrs. Ruth Eaker Gamble was elected District 23 President of the American Legion Aujdliary at the Dis trict meeting Saturday morn ing in Rutherfordton. The District includes mem bers from Kings Mountain, Shelby, Forest Qty, Ruther fordton and Spindale. Mrs. Gamble was re-elected to her second term as Unit 155 President at Thursday’s regu lar meeting of Otis D. Green Unit at the American Legion Building here. Other Kings Mountain wom en attending the District get- to-gether, which included luncheon at Rutherfordton Clubhouse, were Mrs. Orangrel Jolly and Division V President Elizabeth Stewart. Miss Stewart also attended District meetings last week end, beginning Wednesday, at Cherokee, West Asheville, Boone, Rutherfordton and Stanley, accompanied by N. C. Department President Macy Mallard of Raleigh, N. C. Department Vice President Willie Adcock of Hickory and Hospital Director Shannon Evans of Goldsboro. Miss Clara Sweezy of Shelby, outgoing District 23 President, presided at the meeting. -oOo- REPORTS FOR DUTY John E. Setzer, Cpl., U. S. Marines, of 204 Skyline Dr., Bessemer City, has reported for duty at the Marine Corps Air Station, New River, Jacksonville, N. C. The American Association of University Women an nounced this weekend’s schedule of events to be held during the Spring in Shelby Fine Arts Festival. All are open to the public, except the Interpreters Tea, and no ad mission wiU be charged ex cept to the PAG performances of “Carousel.” This weekend events in clude ; Thursday: “Fish Eyes and Butterflies”, at 8 p. m. at Cleveland Tech’s Barn Thea tre. Sunday: Interpreter’s Tea from 3 until 5 p. m. at the home of Mrs. Virginia Raymer in Shelby. Gardner Webb’s Touring Ensemble will present a concert of sacred music at 11 o’clock Sunday morning at Shelby Presbyterian Church.
