C., Priscilla Rickenbacker, Rt. 1, Shootings Reported To Police Two accidental shootings in the area hospitalized two peo ple during the weekend and in vestigation is continuing in the death of a third person who was found shot to death Mon day afternoon at his home in Compact Community. KMPD Chief of Police Wil liam Roper said that Carl Bell, 20, was found dead of a shot gun wound of the head Mon day afternoon at his home. An autopsy has been ordered and investigation is continuing by Paul Barbee and Det. Sgt. Bob Putnam of the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department. Viola Alexander, 70, of Chesterfield Apts., was in jured in a freak accident shortly after midnight Mon day at her home. Chief Roper said that Mrs. Alexander was sitting on a couch with her grandson. The boy was reportedly trying to remove a shell from a shotgun with a pair of pliers. “The boy hit the primer, the shell exploded, blew the pliers from his hand and struck the woman in the left eye”, said the Chief. Mrs. Alexander is a patient at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. Jim Nelson, 20, of George town Apts., reported to KMPD that he was removing a .38 Smith & Wesson from a desk drawer, the gun went off and he was wounded in the side. Concert Planned The First Congregational United Church of Christ in the Lincoln Academy Community will present The Greensboro Men’s Glee Club and Ladies Ensemble in concert on Sun day afternoon July 20, at 4 p. m. Ernest Barnes, a former member of the Shady Grove Community and a graduate of Lincoin High Schooi, is a member of the group. Rev. Russell J. Shipman is the pastor.
