She wore a white picture hat banded with white satin ribbon and trimmed in lace. Her bouquet was white carnations and chrysan themums. Mrs. James B. Allen, Jr. served as the bride’s matron of honor and only attendant. Odell Thrift was his son’s best man. Ushers were James B. Allen, Jr. and Eric Al bright, brother of the bride, of Bessemer City. A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held in the clubhouse after the cere mony. This course will prepare an individual to be a productive employe in an entry-levd job, giving an individual an under standing and a^ireciation of all the functions operating within the business enterprise, provide technical training. Big 'Time Keith and Jackie Allison have been Crossroads favorites for five years, en tering the country music entertainment field as teen agers. A popular duo, Keith and his bride of little more than a year, emerged as top winners in the recent Piedmont Caro linas Talent Contest sponsored by the Grand Ole Opery of Nashville, Tenn. and have for warded a tape to Nashville for a chance in regional competi tion. Crossroads, located in the Oak Grove-Patterson Grove Communities, is a sounding board for local country music talent and has produced such stars as the Radford Sisters, 1972; Jerry Van Tassel, 1973; and Paul White and the Coun try Sounds, 1974, now travel ing with the Wilburn Brothers of Nashville and billed as the Americountry Express and on the AmeriCountry record label. White has also been fea tured in “Country Music Digest” in Nashville. Keith and Jackie Allison are backed up by “The Outcasts” and like to sing country favorites made popular by duos like Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty and George Jones and Tamihy Wynette. “We’re very proud of our Crossroads talent”, admit Elaine and Tom Brooks, promoters. Another Kings Mountain product of the Oak Grove Community, Terry Lovelace, is drummer for Paul White and the Country Sounds, booked for five weeks in Columbus, Ga. and appearing in sell-outs at the Daytona Races and in Tennessee. Terry got his chance in the “big time’’ when White’s former drummer dropped out to complete his college educa tion. As 1973 winner of the Cross roads Talent Show, Van Tassel appeared on the stage of the Grand Ole Opery in Nashville as did the Radford Sisters in 1972. Bible School Opens Vacation BiUe School opens Friday and continues through July 27 at Oak Grove Baptist Church and Vanda Hamrick will operate the diurch bus in the community daily at 8:30a. m. A Parade Friday from 8:30 until 11:30 will open the activi ties which will include bag snack lunches following the morning sessions. Com mencement exercises will be held on Sunday, July 28, 7:30 p. m. Classes will be (pen to young people ages 3-16. General director of the school is Mrs. Jewell Peppers and Rev. Russell Hinton is. associate director. Chorister will be Mrs. Lillie Hinton, Mrs. Annette Webster will serve as pianist and Mrs. Donna Osburn will be secre tary. She is employed as a Medical Technologist in Qinical Chemistry LIPID Research at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem. Mr. Jester is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Milton Joseph Jester of Hillsboro, Texas. Heis a graduate of Oklahoma City Univer sity and received his Masters D^ree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma City University. He has done post graduate wiork at MIT, George Washington University and Hawaii University. He is employed by Western Electric in nuclear submarine sonar engineering designs, for defense activities, in Winston-Salem.
