Craft is from the Greenville, S. C. area and a graduate of The Citadel. He came to Gastonia to. work as a pharmacist 20 years ago. When the original owner died Craft bought the business. Frances Goforth was back home this week to visit rda- tives and to see her latest co authored play produced. DaughterofthelateMr. and Mrs. R. D. Goforth, Frances has been living in New York for several years. Her ties in Kings Mountain still include a brother. Eugene Goforth, and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Fulton. “And, besides,” Frances said, “I justlike to come back home to visit now and then.” Frances and her writing partner, Dr. Howard Richard son, are well-known for a very successful and often per formed play entitled “Dark of The Moon.” Now they have another folk tale from the Smoky Mountain region playing at Mars Hill Collie. This one is titled “The Ark of Safety.” The play, which runs throu^ Aug. 5, is being considered as an annual producticsi for the Mountain Appalachian region. Currently, it is being directed by James Thomas and presented by the Southern Appalachian Repertory Thea tre, a non-profit professional theatre sponsored by the Madison County Bicentennial Cranmission and Theatre Arts Department of Mars Hill Cdlege. KMPD investigated four automobile accidents, one a three-car crash, during the weekend. A “rear end collision” in volving three cars occurred Thursday at 5:36 p. m. and in volved cars operated by Donald Lee Glenn, Shelby, driving a 1969 Dodge; Clamity Yvonne Lary, Rt 3, operating a 1972 Ford; and Jchn Jay Frezell, Columbia, S. C., operating a 1972 Chevy. Damages totaled $350. Ptl. Joe King investigated. Ptl. Harry Martin said Brenda Boyd Wright, 502 Har mon Court, operating a 1964 Buick, backed from her drive way and into a car operated by Carolyn Smith Bell, Rt. 1, Grover. Damages totaled $325. 1^1. Bill Benton said Charles Waters Lutz, 410 Waco Rd., was stopped for traffic at the intersection of King and Battleground Sunday at 4:21 p. m. when his car was hit by another vehicle operated by Jim W. Philip Witherspoon said Wilma Jean Pearson, 207 Fairview St., was stopp^ for a traffic light Sunday at 12:25 and her car was hit by a car operated by Matilda Ann Meeks, Rt. 1 Grover. Snyder, world acclaimed decorator, at Snyder School of Decorating. Mrs. McCarter participated in such classes as pulled sugar, marzipan, gummed paste, pulled crystal, run sugar, and butter cream flow ers. Mrs. McCarter instructs classes in cake decorating for Cleveland Technical Institute and for Clemson, S. C. Exten sion Services in Gaffney, S. C.
