Not pictured, coach Keith Parker and players Jeff Lail and Scott Buchanan Paw Creek Eliminates Post 155 Juniors Kings Mountain's Juniors reached the end of the line in American Legion Area Four playoff action Thursday night at Lancaster Field, being eliminated by Paw Creek, 14- 4. The victory gave the Paw Creek nine the best of three opening round series in two straight games. Kings Mountain, which finished fiftli in League Two regular season play, ended its season with a 2- 12 overall record. Paw Creek touched KM starter Don Henderson for five runs in the first inning and Post 155 couldn't recover. Post 155 managed only five hits. Ron Monday getting two of them. Kings Mountain secured two of its runs in the fifth on a two- run homer by Paul Bowen and got its final two in the ninth on Monday's two-run double. Teams from Dallas, Belmont and Kings Mountain are entered in the tour naments and the winners here will advance to the area tournaments in Charlotte beginning July 15 Kings Mountain's 13-year- old all-star team drew an opening round bye and will not b^in tournament play until Friday afternoon. But Kings Mountain's 13-15 year-old team will play tonight at 8:15 against the Dallas all-stars. The winner will play Belmont Friday night at 8:15. The Belmont and DaDas 13- year-olds open play today at 5:3U and the winner will take on Kings Mountain Friday at 5:30. The double-elimination tournaments will continue through Tuesday, if necessary, but will end Monday if the winner's bracket teams come out on lop. No games will be played on bunOay. All of the KM league teams are represented on the two all- star teams. The 13-15 year old team, which is being coached by Max Bolin. Macedonia. ■ ■ Foster Homes Needed For BR Foster homes are needed ill the Kings Mountain area for visiting players who will be competing in the Senior Babe Ruth League state bast^ball tournament here beginning July 22. There will be 200 boys here from all over the state and at least AO homes are needed to house the players. Plans are to place two boys in each home but it’s pitssible to place just one lM»y in a home.
