Ihursday, July 8, 1976—MIRROR-HERALD—Page 7A Joanna’s Hard Work Paid Off Joanna Rushing, eighth grader at Kings Mountain Junior High School, volunteered her services Saturday during open house festivities at the new Kings Mountain Fire and History Museum. Her salesmanship talents paid off. Joanna worked for about IS hours behind a lemonade stand to offer cool refreshing lemonade to the crowds who attended and when the day was ended she had collected more than $1S0 for the Kings Mountain Fire Museum. Fire Chief Gene Tignor and Assistant Chief Charles E. (Bud) Ware rewarded Miss Rushing with a certificate of commendation and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Rushing, looked on with Lt. Jerry White as the presentation was made. Joanna's father is a volunteer fireman. The certificate read: “Kings Mountain Fire Department wishes to express appreciation to Joanna Rushing for outstanding service and devotion to the Kings Mountain Fire and History Museum.” It was co-signed by Chief Eugene Tignor and Assistant Chief Charles E. Ware.
