This (all the city will undertake a
city-wide beautification project,
according to the mayor. This will be
done In conjunction with the city’s
many garden clubs. The mayor said
plans (or this project will Include the
orderly maintenance of public
properties, with urglngs to private
property owners to follow the
program.
“And all of these programs will be
done In connection with projects
already set for Implementation in
the community,” Mayor Moss said.

measures this year.
"The buses have been
equipped with eight
mirrors - seven outside sind
one inside - to give drivers
a clear field of vision all
around the vehicle,”
Hinson said. "This will
eliminate any blind spots
for the driver and give the
students extra safety.”

local historical significance to be
used In a display at the Cleveland
County Historical Museum.
The display, which Is to reflect the
history of this su'ea, will be In the
former courthouse In Shelby during
September and Oc’iber.
Artifacts, pictures, newspapers,
quilts, furniture, clothing, maps,
books, documents, programs and
any article from the local past,
personal or sentimental, are
requested for use In the display.
All Items loaned to the museum
will be kept under lock and key for
safekeeping and will be returned
Immediately following the close of
the exhibit.
Anyone Interested In assisting In
making the Kings Mountain exhibit
a success Is asked to contact Mrs.
Joe Ann McDaniel at the Kings
Mountain Community Development
Office (739-9331). Mrs. McDaniel
will arrange to have your donation
picked up.
The deadline for receiving Items Is
Aug. 27.
