Spicer, who were wed Saturday, are on a wed ding trip to Seabrook Island, Charleston, S.C. and the South Carolina -Cfeiist, and afterwards will be at honne at 2832 Shamrock Drive In Charlotte. Miss Caune became Mr. Spicer’s bride In a 4 p.m. Candlelight wedding In Charlotte’s Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church. ’The Rev. James Sell, pastor of St. John’s ^Presbyterian Church, heard the couple exchange vows of the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. Esther Walnwrlght was organist for the program of nuptial music and Dwight Price was vocalist. Mr. Price sang "Seal Us O Holy Spirit” before entrance of the bridal party, "Whither ’Ihou Goest’’ before the exchange of vows and ‘“The Lord’s Prayer’’ as the benediction. Candle-lighters were the bride’s brothers, Chiis and Tommy Caune of Charlotte. As she approached the altar on the arm of her father, the bride presented her mother a long stemmed red rose. After their marriage, the bride and bridegroom presented his mother a long stemmed red rose. ’The altar of the church was banked with ferns and enhanced by cathedral tapers In candelabrum Interspersed with Ivy and centered by an arrangement of white mums. Janls Z. Caune gave his daughter In marriage. The bride’s wedding gown wm a traditional design by WlUtam CahlU, Ltd. of white organza over taffeta. ’Ihe low scoop neckline and cap sleeves were enhanced with wide ruffles of organza and Shlffllll embroidery. ’The very full skirt, falling from the empire waist, flowed Into a chapel train which was edged In a matching ruffle. A double-tiered veil of silk Illusion was draped from a bonnet of Valentlan and Venlse lace. She carried her mother’s wedding Bible topped with white seed pearls and a white orchid with stephanotls and streamers of satin ribbon. Morgan of Rt. 1, Blacksburg, S.C. The wedding Is planned for Sat., Sept. 3> In the First Church of the Nazarene In Kings Mountain. Jamie Spicer of Concord, cousin of the bridegroom and Ms. Connie Nealy of Charlotte. All the attendants wore long formals of yellow Jersey enhanced by double off-the-shoulder chiffon ruffles and spaghetti traps. They carried colonial bouquets of yellow rosea and yellow daisy poms. ’The bridegroom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Spicer and Doug Spicer, both of Charlotte, brothers - of the bridegroom. Tommy Caune and Chris Caune, both of Charlotte, brothers of the bride, and Jan Booth of Charlotte. ’The bride’s mother wore a floor-length gown of Mellon poly-knlt and chiffon. ’The A-Une gown featured an empire waistline, V-neckllne and was sleeveless. A waltz- length chiffon cape with handpalnted flower petals and Jewels enhanced the gown. She wore a white yellow-throated orchid at her shoulder. The bridegroom’s mother was gowned In pink knit and chiffon. ’The long ' dress featured a high neckline and long sleeves. She wore a white orchid at her shoulder. The bride’s grand mother, Mrs. C.L. Jolly Sr. of Kings Mountain, chose a Kelly green sleeveless formal and a corsage of yellow sweetheart roses. ’The bride’s godmother, Mrs. Donald Bumgardner of Kings Mountain, wore a waltz length pink pleated dress enhanced by spaghetti straps and capelet. Mrs. Beth Price of Charlotte was wedding director. The bride’s maternal grandmother, Mrs. C.L. Jolly Sr. of Kings Moun tain, hosted the reception after the ceremony In the church fellowship hall. Overlaid with lace over yellow, the bride’s table, highlight of decoration, ' held the four-tiered yellow and white wedding cake as central highlight. Cen tering the table was a sliver candelabrum of white tapers and yellow and white mums. Mrs. Evelyn Mullls and Mrs. Martha Broadwell, both of Charlotte, served the cake, and Miss Elizabeth Stewart of Kings Mountain served punch. Assisting In serving party pickups were Mrs. Clinton Jolly, Mrs. Bob Boyd, both of Kings Mountain, and Mrs. Kenneth Kiser of Bessemer City, aunts of the bride, Mrs. Jimmy Jolly and Mrs. Jack Gaskey of Kings Mountain, cousins of the bride, and Miss Leigh Ann Kiser of Charlotte and Bessemer City, cousin of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Kiser of Bessemer City, aunt and uncle of the bride, greeted guests. The bride’s parents entertained members of the wedding party and out- of-town guests at an open house at their home on Donovan Place following the reception. For traveling, the new Mrs. Spicer chose a sleeveless cranberry- colored knee-length dress enhanced by gold-traced flowers. She lifted the corsage from her bridal bouquet. BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM Mr. and Mrs. Janls Z. Caune of Charlotte are parents of the bride who Is a granddaughtter of Mrs. Orangrel B. Jolly of Kings Mountain and the late Clarence L. Jolly Sr. She Is a graduate of West Charlotte High School. The bridegroom la the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Spicer of Charlotte and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Spicer of Traphlll, N.C. A graduate of West Charlotte High School, where he was on the wrestling team and played footbaU for CYAC. he Is employed as a mechanic. After Sept. 3 the newlyweds will be at home In Charlotte. Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Inman Carter, who were wed Saturday, are on a wedding trip to Bermuda and afterwards will be at home in McLean, Virginia. Miss Kathryn Keeter Madison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Raison, Jr. of Peter sburg, Va. and grand daughter of Mrs. John Byron Keeter of Kings Mountain and the late Mr. Keeter, became Mr. Carter’s bride in a 7 p.m. formal wedding In Petersburg Tabb Street Prsebyterlan Church. The Rev. James C. Allen heard the couple exchange vows of the double-ring ceremony. Miss Kay Ellen Jones was organist for the program of nuptial music and vocal soloist was Dr. John Barker of Norfolk, Va., cousin of the bride, who sang ‘"nie Wedding Song’’ and "The Lord’s Prayer." Escorted by her father and given In marriage by her parents, the bride wore her mother’s wedding gown of rich Ivory satin designed with a Flemish collar of corded Chantilly lace, fitted bodice and^U skirt which extended Into a long circular tra^. She wore matching IKe mitts fashioned with points over the hands. Her cathedral- length veil of French Imported Illusion flowed from a circlet of Ivory silk flowers. The bride also wore a strand of pearls which belonged to her maternal great- grandmother and pearl earrings that were a wedding gift from the bridegroom. She carried a cascade of Belinda roses, gardenias and Ivy. Miss Mary Randolph Madison of Petersburg was her sister’s maid of (Cont. On P. 8) MBS.
