It Was Hawaii In Kings Mountain For Convalescent Center Residents The Activities Room of Kings Mountain Con valescent Center was transformed into an Hawaiian luau setting Wednesday sifternoon. Residents dressed In colorful dresses with hand made leis they had made for themselves and were seated at tables made fostlve with pineapple and floral centerpieces. Grass skirts and Hawaii vacation posters decorated the walls. Hawaiian music was played as fruit compote and Hawaiian punch was served. Program for the af ternoon was a travelog of slides taken by EUaabeth. Stewart, Ruth Gamble and Orangrel Jolly during trips to Honolulu, Hawaii. Miss Stewart and Mrs. Gamble attended an American Legion Auxiliary national convention and Mrs. Jolly visited relatives there. Miss Stewart, assisted by Mrs. Jackie D. Barrett, showed the slides. Evelyn Wilson, ICF social designee, Faye Barbee, ICF activities co ordinator, Sharon Stiles, S&F activity co-ordlnator, and Paulette OolUns, S&F social worker, led the residents in "hula” dan cing, assisted by Mrs. Barrett and Mrs. Jolly. Other members of the staff, including Mrs. Sue Payne, Administrator, joined In the fun. Mrs. Payne will be going to Honolulu this month to attend a convention of nursing home ad ministrators.
