Tommy Welch was KM’s top rusher with 86 yards. Robert Pagan gained 40 and scored the only touch down on a five-yard run, William Short gained 41 and Roy Mathis nine. Coach David Hart said "I felt like we played a real good game except for all the turnovers. They were the difference.” KM lost three fumbles, Including one on the four- yard line. Hart cited Welch, Mike Dover, Mathis and Jeff Moss for their defensive play. The Patriots host College Park of Hickory Thursday at 4: IB p.m. Wolfe, Adams Win Tourney Sam Wolfe and Mary Adams shot a 68-69-188 to win the first annual Kings Mountain Country Club Mixed Team Cham pionship Saturday and Sunday. They finished one stroke ahead of Stoney and Peggy Jackson, who shot 73-67- 189. John and Doris Howze finished third at 140 and John Gamble and L>lb Mayes were fourth at 142. Mickey Powers and Margaret Williams won the Championship B flight with a 148. Jeff Shockley and Marian Thomasson were second at 161, Carol and Connie Ledford third at 162 and Bob Brennan and Betty Campbell fourth at 168. Trophies will be presented Sunday night at the annual Ray Barnes Trophy Dinner at 8 p.m. The trophy presentation will be followed by a film of the 1879 Masters Tour nament. Kings Mountain High's girls tennis team won three matches last week to run Its overall record to 8-3 and Southwestern 8-A Con ference marie to 4-1. The Mountalnettes won a 9-0 forfeit win over Bums after the game was called off early because of rain. The Bums coach notified KM coach Ed Guy later that the Lady Bulldogs did not wish to make It up. KM was leading all four singles matches that were being played when the rains came. The other two singles matches and three doubles matches never began. KM blanked Chase 9-0 Thesday at Chase and picked up a 9-0 win over Crest on Thursday. KMHS goes to West Lincoln today and returns home Thursday to en tertain East Rutherford In Its final home match.
